The Enchanting Doctor With a Bite novel Chapter 34

Kylie was Vincent's attending physician, the one who was the most familiar with his condition.

She had timed the moment when Vincent's health was deteriorating. Then, when Samuel rushed back, she faked drowning, all while subtly revealing her scar. It was all for him to believe she was the person who had saved him all those years ago.

With this thought in his head, Samuel grabbed her chin and forced her to meet his gaze. "Just because you came from the sanctuary and got yourself a scar, it doesn't mean you can pass off as someone else and take her place."

Upon hearing this, Kylie tensed.

"Did you think I planned all of this?" She met his sharp gaze and questioned him. "Logan got this dress. I have no idea it would have a zipper at the back."

His face remained terrifyingly cold. "Even if it weren't this dress, you would've found another way."

A wave of sorrow and despair washed over her at his words.

"If that's what you believe, then I have nothing more to say." Anything she said now would simply look like an excuse.

Kylie swallowed the bitterness in her chest and didn't argue further. Instead, she said softly, "Let's go. We should check on Grandpa."

Samuel caught the shift in her emotion and stated coldly, "Just because you put on a wronged expression doesn't make you any more believable."

Just as she was about to respond, a sharp pain shot through her stomach.

Noticing the change in her expression, he said, "I'll have the butler keep a close watch on your meals from now on. Stop looking so weak all the time. People might think I can't provide for a woman."

With that, he turned and strode downstairs. Kylie took a deep breath and followed him into the main house.

Vincent wasn't in good condition today, and Kylie performed acupuncture on him.

Meanwhile, Sebastian, a modern medicine specialist, stood to the side and watched her at work. Although she seemed ordinary, she managed to capture Samuel's attention and would likely become his wife. He wasn't around when Vincent was ill, so this was the first time he was watching her treat a patient.

To the untrained eye, it might look like an ordinary procedure. But to someone with medical knowledge, it was clear she knew what she was doing.

Sebastian had studied a little about traditional medicine and could tell that Kylie was well-practiced. The way she inserted the needles was smooth and effortless. She was just as skilled as an old traditional medicine specialist who had spent decades in the field.
