The officer scowled at Kylie's indifferent attitude and said sternly, "Hitting someone is wrong regardless of the circumstances. This is a serious matter, as what you did has disrupted public order, and you had intentionally harmed another."
Just then, the office phone rang. The officer picked up the receiver and held it to his ear. "Hello?"
Whatever the person on the other end said made him straighten up instantly. His tone became overly polite as he nodded repeatedly. "Yes, yes, of course! Don't worry, I'll handle this properly!"
When Iris saw this, a satisfied smirk appeared on his face. On the way to the police station, she called Samuel and told him she had been assaulted, and the perpetrator refused to apologize or compensate her.
Hence, she was certain it must've been Samuel who called the police officer. As soon as the officer hung up, a well-dressed man in a tailored suit walked in, carrying a briefcase. He gave off an air of professionalism and competence.
"Ms. Dale, this is my business card. Mr. Vance sent me to handle this matter."
Iris' eyes brightened as she took the card. The man before her was Simon Jones, a great lawyer famed for his undefeated record. She hadn't expected Samuel to take her situation this seriously.
Her worries over the scar instantly vanished as they were replaced by joy.
"Mr. Jones, that's her! Look at what she did to my face! She refuses to apologize or cover my medical expenses. Her behavior is truly vile!" Iris complained.
However, Kylie remained unfazed and maintained her relaxed posture as she lazily glanced at Iris' swollen face.
Simon shifted his gaze away from Iris' face and looked at Kylie. She seemed somewhat familiar.
"Ms. Dale, rest assured that I'll take care of this. According to the law, intentionally causing minor injuries entails a standard sentence of six months in prison."
