"Yes, do as the lawyer says," Iris responded despite her unwillingness. She quietly tightened her grip on the ice pack in her hand.
The officer was done venting his frustrations internally. He quickly replied respectfully, "Yes, Ma'am."
Money truly was everything. He wouldn't dare to disobey a word they say.
A short while later, the officer returned, looking utterly defeated. Simon frowned when he saw the officer return alone. "Where is she?"
"Ms. Dale refused to come out. She said…" The officer hesitated, carefully observing Simon and Iris' expressions.
Iris' eyes widened in disbelief, and her voice rose in rage. "She said what? She's truly pushing her luck!"
"She said locking her up is easy, but getting her out wouldn't be as easy." When Simon heard this, he was left helpless.
"What does she want then?" Iris' swollen face twisted with frustration.
"I'll go get her out," Simon sighed. Ten minutes later, he returned empty-handed as well.
Iris was stunned. "What the hell does she mean by this? Does she expect me to plead with her?"
Kylie had already anticipated Iris' reaction.
"There's no need for that. She said you're an eyesore." Simon recounted what Kylie said to him word by word to Iris. The moment she heard that, Iris nearly blew up on the spot.
Left with no choice, Simon could only call Samuel. He believed now that Kylie was something else. If he hadn't witnessed her stubbornness firsthand, he might've been fooled by her gentle and obedient appearance.
