"Mr. Vance." The officer in charge of the case greeted him as he hurriedly got up.
"Samuel, what are you doing here?" Iris was a little startled when she saw him. Once she snapped out of it, she immediately walked over to him and sought his sympathy.
Samuel saw her red, swollen face and narrowed his eyes. "Who did this to you?"
Before Iris could say anything, he cast a sidelong glance at Logan and said commandingly, "Take her to the hospital now."
"Understood." Logan immediately responded. He looked at Iris and gestured politely. "Ms. Vale, this way, please."
Iris looked disdained. She didn't want Logan to take her to the hospital, and she gave Samuel a somewhat bitter look.
Samuel frowned. He seemed to be in a terrible mood. His expression was chilly, and his demeanor icy and distant. Not even the harshest winter was this cold.
Iris asked timidly, "Can't you go with me?"
Samuel responded coldly without a second thought, "I have to deal with something, so I can't take you."
He had time to deal with Kylie's matters but did not take her to the hospital. His priorities were clear.
The notion brought a shade of gloominess to her expression. Although she knew why Samuel had come here, she was sadder and wracked with more jealousy and resentment than she had imagined. The emotions came together in the worst possible way ever, making her face contort with menace.
Samuel walked steadily and stopped in front of Simon. "Where is she?"
"Follow me." He followed Simon to the holding cell.
