There was a small lounge beyond the door, which contained a coffee table and a couch.
Once the food was laid out, Jim and Linda led the maids out of the room, leaving Kylie and Samuel alone in there.
The pain was so unbearable that Kylie couldn't sleep at all.
At first, she wanted to play some mobile games to distract herself. However, Samuel was here, so she had no choice but to shut her eyes and pretend to sleep.
Silence hung over the guest room.
All of a sudden, Samuel firmly pinched Kylie's chin. His deep-set eyes were devoid of warmth as he said, "Are you in so much pain that you can't walk? Do you want me to carry you?"
Kylie slowly opened her eyes and responded, "Do you have to be like this? Do you have to constantly remind me that the powerful have plenty of choices, while the poor and helpless have to make the best of what they were given?
"Is this how you treat your wife? You're intimidating me in the most considerate way possible."
"It looks like you remembered what I said. Very well, then. I don't have to repeat myself, apparently." Samuel's expression was extremely distant. His dashing face showed no signs of any other emotions.
He then shifted his gaze and walked toward the coffee table. With his back turned to her, he coldly said, "Get up and eat something. Don't make me say it again."
So, Kylie lifted the blanket and got out of her bed.
She stood on the soft Persaran rug with her bare feet. She had to arch her body due to the abdominal pain before she could walk over to the coffee table, albeit with difficulty.
Samuel heard her footsteps and visibly relaxed. However, when he turned around and looked at her, he resumed his usual, cold expression.
He then quickly made his way back to the bed and yanked a coat off the rack before roughly hurling it at Kylie.
"Put it on!" he barked. Then, he picked up a pair of white slippers and walked over to her.
