The Enchanting Doctor With a Bite novel Chapter 71

But before Iris could touch his cheek, Samuel had already pulled away.

Iris was stunned, and her face turned pale. Feeling both shocked and humiliated, she could only stare at him, completely at a loss for words.

Meanwhile, Samuel remained silent.

Suddenly, the car felt suffocating, and the silence pressed down on them.

Iris bit her lip, and after a long moment, she finally asked, "Samuel… Do you not have feelings for me at all?" Her voice was tinged with shame and frustration.

The scent of Iris' perfume lingered in the air and agitated Samuel's burning nerves. Yet, he would rather endure this torment than touch her.

He forced himself to suppress the raging fire in his body, and after a long ten seconds, he finally responded in a steady but distant voice, "You're overthinking. Women tend to romanticize these things, but it isn't the right time."

"I don't care. As long as it's you, it'll always be right." Iris' eyes glistened with tears, though she stubbornly held them back.

"Is it really about timing, or do you just not feel anything for me? Or maybe you see my so-called life-saving grace as a burden. You've been wanting to end things with me for a long time now, and since Kylie's here, she's given you the perfect excuse.

"You can't wait to get rid of me, can you?"

"No."

Just one word. Cold. Emotionless.

Iris' heart turned ice-cold, and her tears finally spilled over.

She knew Samuel had always been aloof and distant. When there were no other women around him, she hadn't thought much of it. She had even gotten used to it.

But now… things were different.

No man had ever resisted her. Not unless…

"Logan is here. You should go." Samuel's cold voice cut through her thoughts as indifferently as ever.

"I—" But before Iris could finish speaking, Samuel leaned over and opened the car door on her side—his stance was clear.

Logan approached them and respectfully greeted, "Mr. Vance. Ms. Dale."
