Samuel's sudden kick was so hard that it sent a jolt through Logan's chest.
Dominic slammed into the wall and crumpled to the floor.
It all happened in the blink of an eye. Logan even heard the sickening crack of bones breaking.
Dominic lay sprawled on the ground, unable to move. Cold sweat beaded across his forehead from the pain.
Samuel strode over in a few long strides. His polished, black leather shoes landed square on Dominic's wrist.
His face remained emotionless as he said, "This is the 21st century. There's nothing you can't explain with a phone call. Especially a murder-for-hire. Who the hell would be stupid enough to show their real face?
"I'll only ask this one more time. Are you sure the man who approached you was him?"
Dominic's face contorted in terror. "Yes! I'm sure it was him. But whether or not it was someone pretending to be him—I can't say for certain. They said they had my wife and kid. I panicked—I wasn't thinking straight!"
Samuel slowly nodded. "Well, that's not impossible."
Dominic let out a shaky breath, as if he'd just dodged death. His body relaxed with the kind of relief that only came from nearly escaping hell.
That possibility had crossed Samuel's mind too.
Dominic might've had a rough life, but that didn't excuse what he did. Naturally, he deserved whatever was coming!
Without warning, Samuel shifted his weight—still barely pressing down—and Dominic's wrist cracked louder this time.
Instantly, a scream tore through the tiny concrete room, raw and guttural.
At that moment, Simon walked in and caught the scene.
His brow twitched hard.
It had been years since he'd seen Samuel this furious.
The last time he'd been this mad was two years ago—after nearly dying in an ambush on Starlight Summit.
He'd clawed his way back from the brink, and the first thing he did once he was back on his feet was wipe out everyone responsible.
