Madison held her hand up, and the ghost flew over right away. Madison then said, “Let Wanda in.” 

Yara called out, and Wanda immediately pushed the door open to enter. When she saw what Madison had in her hand, Wanda got so frightened that her eyes bulged. She had been hanging out with Madison for quite some time now. Hence, she had seen her fair share of ghosts. Some were strong like Sebastian while some were useless like Wanda’s ex. She even met Nadia, the malicious ghost brimming with anger. 

Yet, none of them compared to what she was looking at. 

The being in front of her had its mouth open. Its teeth were so sharp that it didn’t look human, and its eyes were practically on the verge of popping out of their 

sockets. 

The scariest part was its fingers. Those fingers weren’t really fingers at all. Instead, they were dark green bones. Even its body was twisted. It was as though someone had broken it apart and then stuck it back together carelessly. Every single part of it was especially uneven. 

“It’s an evil ghost,” said Yara as she stood at the side. She had a grim expression when she looked at Madison. 

The ashes of talisman paper were scattered around the floor. Seeing that prompted Yara to say, “Madison, you…” 

“Hand me the peachwood seal,” interrupted Madison. 

Wanda quickly went to her bag to retrieve the peachwood seal they had prepared in advance. She handed it to Madison. 

Madison flicked her fingers, and just like that, the evil ghost was absorbed into the peachwood seal. 

The ghostly energy in the surrounding area instantly dissipated. Similarly, the icy sensation that constantly had everyone engulfed was gone as well. Madison was the first to leave the place. 

Wanda took two steps forward. She later turned around and stared at Yara, who wasn’t moving at all. Wanda asked, “Aren’t you coming along?” Yara said, “There’s something really off about Madison.” 

Wanda was confused, so she asked, “What’s off about her? She seems like her usual self.” 

Yara had Wanda open the bag they had with them. It contained a variety of peachwood seals, peachwood swords, and Five Decardian Coins. Yara couldn’t speak after seeing all that. 

“These are all the things that Ms. Locke asked me to prepare before we came,” said Wanda as she tilted her head down to check the items inside. “These are just regular items that cultivators use, right? There’s nothing off about them.” 

‘Except Madison was the one who asked you to prepare all these. That shows that something is off,” said Yara. She looked rather grim when she dashed out of there. 

Outside, Madison was already telling Shane how they could rescue Helena. 

“This evil ghost saw the monk who took Helena away. Her ghostly energy has latched onto the guy, so we can use this ghost to find the monk.” 

Shane quickly asked, “Should we head over right away? If Cyrus truly is the culprit, things will be easier if I’m there.” 

“Okay.” 

Cynthia stood at the side and spoke up as well, “I want to tag along too. Cyrus, that asshole! If he refuses to let Helena go, I’ll expose him. His reputation will be destroyed, and he won’t be able to find a job in this industry anymore.” 

Shane remained neutral and said, “Let’s just head over for now.” 

Everyone got into the car after that. 

Madison sat in the passenger seat of Shane’s car. She had the peachwood seal with her and asked Wanda to retrieve an incense stick from the bag. Madison softly chanted a spell. 

Immediately after, Shane saw green smoke slowly seeping out the window. It was as if it had a mind of its own. 

Shane fired up the engine right away and followed that smoke.
