The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 129

Meredith thought about it and decided to visit Derek. She wouldn't feel reassured until she knew nothing serious happened to him.

However, thinking that it was a hospital of the Xaviers, so his families must be there, and perhaps there were also be some of his friends,

Meredith hesitated. If she went, would she cause any unnecessary trouble and make Derek hate her more?

After thinking about it, Meredith decided to go over in the dead of night and just take a peek.

...

Time passed fast and it was soon late at night.

Meredith was wearing a mask and sunglasses, looking rather strange. When she got into the taxi, the driver cast a glance at her from time to time, obviously taking Meredith in such a strange outfit as a suspicious person.

"To the hospital," Meredith said, looking out the window, ignoring the driver's gaze.

The car soon arrived at the hospital where Derek was. Because it was late, the usually crowded hospital was much more empty and quiet.

Meredith went to his room according to the room number Jameson gave her. Derek's room was a VIP room in the innermost part of the building.

At the door, Meredith's hand halted on the door and she took a deep breath.

She didn't know if Derek was asleep. She wished he was, so she could see him and leave without being noticed.

When she was hesitating, Derek, who had just gone out to talk with the doctor, came back and frowned when he saw a sneaky figure at the door.

Could there be a thief in this hospital? Or the paparazzi who wanted to dig some big news?

No matter who that guy was, it was a stupid attempt.

Thinking about it, the man slowed down his pace and walked over quietly, ready to catch this audacious person.

Meredith was about to push the door open when suddenly, someone grabbed her hand. She was caught unawares and her heart pounded like it was about to jump out of her chest.

"Who are you?" Derek looked at the woman wearing a mask and sunglasses. She was dressed so strangely that she must have no good intentions. The force on his hand increased a little, causing Meredith to frown and cry out in pain.

"I..." Meredith didn't know what to explain. She didn't expect that Derek happened to be outside.

Moreover, he looked energetic. Judging from the strength in his hand which was so great that her wrist turned red from his grip, it was obvious at a glance that he was in a good condition.

Was she deceived?

Meredith was a little angry. Jameson's words were so vague. She thought something really happened to Derek and he was feeling very uncomfortable in the hospital. She didn't expect that Jameson was just fooling her.

"Who sent you here? For what purpose? Spit it out."

Seeing that she was silent, Derek dragged her arm and pulled her in front of him.

"What purpose can I have? Can't I be just a passerby or a patient here?"

Her wrist hurt so much that Meredith almost cried. Why the hell was the man's strength so great?

He was way healthier than her. He was not even close to dying.

"You are... Meredith?"

Derek almost ran out of patience and intended to call security to bring her out for an interrogation, but when he heard her moan in pain, he frowned.

The voice was too familiar.

"So what?" Seeing that he had recognized her, Meredith gave up pretending and took off her sunglasses with the other hand, revealing her watery eyes. "Get your hands off me."

Derek snorted, released his hand, and opened the door. "Get in."

She must have a purpose for coming here in the middle of the night.
