The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 165

Meredith did not detect the coldness in his words, but Derek relieved her instead.

Opening the door, Meredith saw the long wound on Derek's face. Although the blood had coagulated, the red bloodstain was still shocking.

"What has happened to you?"

Meredith couldn't help but stare at the wound. It looked like he had been scratched by something. Why would Derek be attacked? Besides, this was the second time he had been attacked in the past few days. Was he in any danger?

"It's all right." Derek had long forgotten about this matter, mainly because he had other things in his mind so that he forgot about the pain.

"I have something to ask you, Meredith."

As Derek spoke, his eyes fell on Meredith. Her eyes were full of sincere concern, which calmed him down a little.

"What's the matter? We'll talk about it after my wound is applied with medicine."

Meredith kept staring at Derek's wound, not even noticing what was wrong with him. She was just thinking that it would be a sin to leave such a long scar on such a handsome face of him.

After that, she quickly ran to her room to look for her medicine box. Seeing her insistence, Derek did not say anything but walked into Meredith's bedroom and sat down casually. However, he soon saw a prenatal education book.

Instead of liking the cute baby on the cover, he was even unhappier.

If the baby were his, he would definitely like it, but actually, it was not. He didn't know which man was the baby's father, nor did he know the man's identity, where he was now, when that man would show up again, and what Meredith thought of him.

Derek had always been a risk-averse, nor in his relationships. He wouldn't give Meredith a reason to leave him at any time.

Meredith got the cotton swabs and the anti-inflammatory iodophor and ran back. Seeing Derek sitting on the bed looking at a book with a complicated expression, her heart thumped and she quickly packed up the things. "Let me apply the medicine to your wound."

Derek nodded. Meredith first wiped the bloodstain off his face with a wet cotton swab, then dabbed the wound with iodine.

Fortunately, the wound was not deep. Although it looked scary, it shouldn't have left him a scar.

But Meredith was still worried about what had happened, letting him get hurt for the second time.

"Is... Is Grandpa Xavier the one who did it?"

Meredith asked carefully if as she gently applied for the medicine.

"Yes." Derek nodded, accidentally touching the wound, and couldn't help but hiss. Meredith was shocked, "Don't move!"

However, although her words sound reasonable and strong, Meredith felt some guilty inside because she knew that Derek would be beaten, and it must have something to do with her.

"Is it because of me?"

"Don't think too much." Derek did not answer her question directly, nor did he deny it.

Meredith was slightly touched. Even if he was beaten by Mr. Xavier, he did not vent his anger on her. Moreover, he was so considerate of her.

Perhaps Derek was more serious about her than she thought.

When thinking about it, Meredith's eyes flickered. She wondered if Derek knew that the child was his and if they fought together, would there be a good result?

Meredith quickened her movements, finished applying for the medicine, and was about to put the things away, but Derek suddenly held her wrist and let her eyes meet his, without any room for evasion.

"Meredith, I have something to ask you."
