The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 200

Meredith looked at Derek and felt both heartache and guilt. "Stop moving. Get in the car."

As she said, Damian quickened his pace and quickly helped Derek get into the car. Meredith watched from behind as her mother was carried into the ambulance and she sat beside the stretcher.

Although she could do nothing to help now, she still held her mother's hand. Unlike the warmth in her memory, her mother's hands now were cold and full of needle holes. Her mother's hands looked like skin and bones.

All these years, she had been lying on the bed and spending her time in a numb way.

"Mom, it's okay. I won't let you suffer like this again."

Meredith sat aside and muttered to herself. Derek looked at her guilty face and couldn't help but comfort her. "You're not to blame for this. The Masons goes too far."

It was okay if Derek didn't mention the Masons. But when Meredith heard the 'The Masons', Meredith wanted to get a knife and put up a desperate fight.

How could they do this to a patient who had no ability to resist?

Derek's expression was also very gloomy. On the one hand, it was because the wounds on his body were so painful. On the other hand, the Masons had already challenged his bottom line by causing troubles over and over again.

If he didn't resolve this mortal malady, the Masons might come to Meredith to cause troubles again. And in a long time in the future, he couldn't stay with Meredith abroad.

It seemed that he must take action as soon as possible.

Derek narrowed his eyes and a cold gleam flashed in his eyes. Then he looked at Damian, who was sitting by the side. "Did you control those people?"

Those gangsters seemed to have come prepared. Since they dared to take action, then he shall do things to retaliate.

"They have all been caught. We will soon be able to find out who is behind it."

Damian immediately reported. In fact, the matter was very clear, but he did not want to say it in front of Meredith that the Masons had sent people to mess up the situation. This was too cruel for her.

Derek nodded. At this time, the ambulance stopped at the entrance of a hospital he had reserved. Meredith got out of the car with the medical staff and accompanied them to take her mother in for a check-up. When she saw her mother being pushed inside to do a CT Scan, she realized that something was wrong.

She had just been so busy accompanying her mother that she forgot about Derek's injury.

Thinking about it, she hurriedly looked for Derek, who was in the other ward. The doctor checked Derek's injury. The doctor said, "Fortunately, your bones were not hurt, but the wound on your back was more severe but you'll be fine after a few days of rest."

Meredith saw Derek take off his shirt. His flawless body, which was originally like a sculpture, was covered with scars. She saw the bruises and scratches caused by the beating and the nails. But the most shocking one was the long bruise on his back.

He got that because he shielded her from the hit which was going to hurt her belly.

Meredith's heart seemed to have been hit by something. No one had ever done anything like this for her. He was so desperate to protect her that he couldn't even care about his own safety.

Derek frowned and allowed the doctor to apply ointment to him. Only then did he notice that there was a thin figure at the door. Who else could it be but Meredith?

"What are you doing by standing at the door?"

Derek's voice interrupted Meredith's thoughts. She came over with mixed feelings and looked at his wounds. "Does they hurt? It's all my fault. If it weren't for me..."
