Derek had a dream while he was dozing off on the plane.
In his dream, he saw Meredith.
She sat in a very clean room with a newborn baby in her arms and smiled at him. The smile was as pure as an angel.
Derek walked over gently when Meredith said to him, "The child is yours. It's our child."
Just as Derek was about to take the baby from her arms, it all suddenly vanished.
Instead, Meredith was lying in the delivery room with a large pool of blood under her. She looked at him resentfully. "Derek, I hate you. It's all because of you. I hate you. I will never forgive you for the rest of my life!"
The difference between the two scenes was so great that even Derek could not help but feel frightened. Especially, the woman's voice was so real, full of hatred for him, so strong that it could not be weakened...
Derek opened his eyes suddenly and a few drops of cold sweat slid down his forehead.
How could he have such a bad dream?
Derek was breathing heavily when the stewardess came over as he instructed, "It's less than an hour away. Mr. Xavier... Did you sleep well?"
Derek waved his hand to let her out. He would not reveal his fragile side in front of any strangers.
Meredith, what happened to you? Derek had never been a superstitious person. But when it came to what people cared about, they would be blind, even he was no exception.
Was she in trouble?
Derek looked out the window. The beautiful blue sky did not make him feel relaxed. Instead, he felt heavier and heavier...
Meredith, you must take care of yourself. Otherwise, I would go crazy...
An hour later, the plane landed, and Derek immediately turned on his phone. He saw an incoming call from Meredith.
Derek called back immediately, but no one answered.
The beep sound boiled him.
He had a premonition that something bad had happened to Meredith...
Worried and uneasy, Derek resisted the urge to smash his phone and called the bodyguard who stayed there.
Because he didn't want Meredith to find out that he was still monitoring her life, and he didn't want the Xaviers to get somthing more on him, Derek let Damian go home first and hired other people to keep an eye on Meredith.
"Where is Meredith now?"
"Miss Mason? Is there anything wrong?"
Now, it was late at night abroad due to the jet lag, and the people who were asked were confused. They watched Meredith come home, so they went back to their places.
The people Derek hired were the most expensive bodyguards, and some had even been mercenaries before. They only accepted the most dangerous tasks. This task of protecting a woman was really below their pay grade.
In addition, Meredith's life was routine, from hospital to home, from home to hospital. They really couldn't figure out what would go wrong, so they slowly put their guard down. This time, they made a huge mistake. They left Meredith alone.
"Mr. Xavier, we will go checking it out right away."
Derek was instantly enraged. Check it out? Then it meant that Meredith was out of their sight. He clearly asked them to watch over Meredith 24 hours a day to protect her, but these people were so sloppy?
