The call was to Evelyn.
The last time they met, they left contact information with each other.
Seeing Parker's call, Evelyn picked it up immediately.
"When are you coming to J City? Now, Derek may be sad and need some comfort."
Parker didn't have any emotions in his eyes, and his tone was calm.
He did not like Evelyn, but he could still use her to achieve his goal.
"What? What happened to him?"
Evelyn frowned. When did Derek return to J City? She had no idea at all.
Did something happen to Derek, and that was why Parker said he needed comfort?
"Nothing. Maybe he just had a breakup."
Parker said indifferently. He didn't care what happened to Derek.
Evelyn perked up. "I'll be right there."
A person who had fallen out of love was the most vulnerable. If she could seize this opportunity, Derek would probably look at her in a new light. Moreover, she had always wanted to visit Derek's mother in J City.
"I'll go today." Evelyn got someone to buy her the earliest ticket.
After getting the answer he wanted, Parker reminded her, "Don't forget about the bone marrow. We can't wait any longer. Be cooperative if you don't want more trouble."
Evelyn didn't like to be threatened, but after thinking about it, it wouldn't do her any good to antagonize Parker. This man was worth using.
"Okay, I got it."
So she called Ellie. "Where are you now? I'm going to J City. Go with me."
Ellie was in the middle of a meeting. She left the meeting to answer Evelyn's call, looking troubled. "I have something to do at work right now... Or else..."
Before she could finish, Evelyn was displeased and said sarcastically, "Do you think you're superior now? How dare you refuse me when I ask you to go out with me?"
This matter was about Derek, and Evelyn would not allow anything to go wrong, especially with Ellie.
Ellie was just an adopted orphan. How dared Ellie disobey her?
Hearing what Evelyn said, Ellie replied with resignation, "Okay, I'll get ready right away."
"Go to the airport when you're ready. Hurry up. I don't have time to wait for you."
After that, Evelyn hung up.
Ellie held her cell phone and was agitated. She was tired of being called around by Evelyn, but she could not get away with it.
She had to compromise again and again because the Smith family had raised her.
She was exhausted. Ellie wondered where her biological parents were now. If they knew that she had grown up, would they want to find her?
But if they wanted to, they wouldn't have abandoned her, right?
With a sigh, Ellie went in to talk to tell her colleagues before packing her simple luggage and going to the airport.
...
After Derek left the hospital, he didn't know where to go. He didn't want to go back home. He was in a bad mood and didn't want to argue with Violet.
So, he called Jameson and went to the bar for a drink.
