Meredith glanced at the man who was driving and then quickly turned her gaze away.
After thinking for a while, she looked out the window. It was pitch dark in the evening. However, it was useless to think about this kind of thing. Could Derek listen to what she said?
The man was tyrannical and domineering. Perhaps the only thing she could do was to make him show mercy and not send her to prison again.
While driving, Derek glanced at Meredith who was looking at the darkness out of the window. It was already late at night and she could barely see anything outside, but she still concentrated her attention on the darkness outside as if she was falling into it.
It seemed that she was trying to draw a demarcation line with him, which made Derek feel that he was resisted by her.
Did she resist his approach? Was it for that damned Parker?
"What were you doing when I called you?"
Derek was obviously very concerned about this.
If he didn't figure it out, he would think that man and she had done something in that apartment.
"Does it matter to you what I was doing at that time?" Meredith frowned slightly. Derek's question made her feel offended.
Did he think she was seducing Parker again? Was she so deplorable from his opinion?
"And even if I had done something, it shouldn't have anything to do with you, right?" Meredith put on a cold face and said that calmly.
They were going to get a divorce. Why did he still ask her this kind of question?
"Meredith, don't forget that we're still husband and wife with a marriage certificate. Answer my question."
Derek looked at Meredith's cold and gloomy face. He stepped on the brake and the car stopped abruptly.
The sudden inertia made her body lean forward. If it wasn't for the safety belt, she was sure that she would hit the windshield in front of her.
The man was examining her, which made Meredith's suppressed anger uncontrollable.
They were not real husband and wife. Why could Derek interrogate her like a prisoner? She called him, but no one answered. Would she be so bored to ask him about that?
"If I tell you I just wanted to wash away the disgusting smell of those people left on me after arriving at a safe place, do you believe it? You would think I'm lying. Anyway, I am such a dissolute woman in your heart. Since you don't believe it, why do you ask me?"
Derek looked into Meredith's eyes, which rarely flashed with anger and even a glimmer of water.
The man suddenly thought of the videos taken by passers-by. Even from the videos, he could know how desperate Meredith was then.
"What were you doing when I was being chased around? They almost shot me that kind of video and ruined my life. But when I called you, no one answered. Did I ask where you were and what you were doing at that time?"
Since she had oped her mouth, Meredith didn't care about anything. They were about to break up. She was afraid of nothing.
However, Derek, who kept silent all the time, felt a little surprised when he heard her words, "Did you call me?"
He suddenly remembered that Meredith seemed to have snatched someone's phone and made a call in that video, but he thought she called Parker.
He didn't expect that the first man she thought of at stake was him.
Meredith did not want to admit that at all. It could only show how stupid she was. The first man she thought of was him.
But Derek confirmed that she wasn't lying from her eyes. This made the man feel much more relaxed. He rubbed his forehead, "This is a misunderstanding."
