Stephen lowered his voice, saying. “Let me think about it. 

Only that particular construction company was capable of handling the job at the moment. If they dropped out, the construction progress would be disrupted. 

“Alright, but you better think it through. A decision like this can’t be made on impulse,” the head contractor left Stephen with one last advice. 

After that, Stephen and the mayor left. 

“Is it impractical to build the stadium on the water?” Stephen asked himself. 

He was torn. It was a great opportunity to make a name for himself. Must he really give it up due to technical difficulties? 

When he got back to his hotel, he pulled out his phone and saw the text from Snow. 

[What are you doing?] 

Feeling frustrated, Stephen replied. [Are you free now? Let’s have coffee.]

A while later, they met up for a coffee. Seeing Snow, Stephen could feel some of the tension in his chest ease up.. 

Snow looked at him, curious. “What’s the matter? Did something happen?”

“Alright,” Snow said, not pressing further. 

They sat in silence for a while, even after their drinks were served. 

Snow sipped her coffee, and after a minute, she said, “I’m leaving in a few days.

Stephen was taken aback. “Why?” 

As Snow lowered her gaze, she said, “My father works in the steel industry, and he has been wanting to set up a factory here in Aqua City, but he has had no luck.” 

There was a hint of sadness in her eyes. It was the first time Stephen had seen her like that, and it made his heart ache. 

“Why hasn’t it worked out?” 

“I don’t know. My dad never told me about it. He said I’m a girl and that I don’t need to know. He just wants me to be a lady and a good wife to my future husband,” Snow said with a sigh. 

“He’s not been in a good mood lately. I think it’s because his plans are not making any progress, After today, I’ll have to leave with him. He also plans to marry me to someone else, and I won’t be able to follow him around anymore.” 

Stephen panicked when he heard Snow was leaving and might be marrying someone else. 

As for her father’s failure in setting up a new factory in Aqua City, he knew exactly why. It must be because of Ethan’s plan.

He hated Ethan and his plans for almost driving Snow away.
