Chapter 147
Snow raised her head to look at Ethan. “Have you ever been affected by fate before?
“So far…” Ethan looked outside the door and said, “I control my fate.”
Snow’s heart skipped a beat, her face filled with shock. The teacup in her hand dropped to the ground, spilling tea everywhere.
Her mind flashed with the many things she had heard about Ethan over the years–how he taught the ruthless town of Lytton how to farm and how he turned the fierce Crestwood into a place of song and dance.
He also stopped a group of billionaire tycoons at the border of Riveria, killing half of them, and used their money to develop Aqua City, he even forced the South Regent, who commanded over a hundred thousand soldiers, to flee in the middle of the night and declare that he would never cross the border again!
Snow smiled bitterly. “If you step in, would that mean I could finally be with him?”
“Yes.” Ethan said, “I have many ways to bring you two together, but I won’t help him. All I’ll do is pick a good burial plot for you.
Snow knew in her heart that Ethan would not help her. That was because, when she came, Stephen had told her that Ethan was an enemy.
She knew how ruthless Ethan was to his enemies. To this day, people still turned pale just hearing his name. Even her current employer, Oliver, always became uneasy anytime Ethan was mentioned.
“Pick a good burial plot for me?”
Snow’s heart sank into despair. She felt that Ethan had made himself very clear that death was her only fate.
“I hope that after I die, I can return to that village. Thank you.”
Then, she stood up and said, “Goodbye.”
Snow turned around and walked out the door, listless and disheartened. As she stepped outside, the sunlight hit her face, blinding her.
Ethan watched her leave. He decided to help Snow pick a burial plot for two reasons. First, Nina had given Snow five million before she died. Second, it was the perfect way to deal with Stephen.
He would make Stephen personally lock Snow up and have Snow commit suicide for him. Then, Stephen would be left with no way out!
Meanwhile, Stephen had just arrived in Aqua City.

“Oliver.” Stephen asked Oliver, “Didn’t you say three billion was enough? Why do you suddenly need more?”
Oliver said, “There are companies competing with us for some scarce materials, so we have to buy them at a premium.”
“How much do you need?” Stephen asked.
“500 million.”
As it was not a small amount, Stephen asked in a low tone, “Are you sure it’s 500 million?”
Oliver nodded. “Yes, we’re short just 500 million for the construction site.”
Stephen had visited the site, and it was nearly completed. Since they were on a tight
schedule, a lot of plastic materials had been used to make the stadium lighter and re
