Chapter 178
Stephen and Simon waited for another half minute, but Ethan did not continue.
“That’s it?” Simon asked. “That’s all you’re going to say?”
Ethan nodded. “Yep.”
“That’s ridiculous!”
Simon could not accept it. 50 million for just that? Although it did reveal where Snow was, the area was vast. How many villages were there in Draconia?
There were too many to count, and wanting to find Snow would be like searching for a needle in a haystack. The worst part was, they could not even search for her publicly.
Everyone believed Snow had committed suicide out of guilt. If they suddenly announced that she was alive–that everyone was tricked, what would people think?
On top of that, all eyes were on Stephen now. How could he explain bringing a criminal back home?
In other words, although Ethan revealed where Snow was, it was almost like he had not. The chances of finding her were slim. Even if they could find her, it would take decades. Stephen and Snow would both be old, and what would be the point by then?
Frustrated, Stephen pressed on, “Can you be more specific? Where exactly is she? At least tell me the city!”
Ethan said calmly, “That’s up to you to figure out.”
“How am I supposed to find her?”
Stephen almost broke down. Draconia was large, and there were countless villages. Unless the Quinns intervened, it was impossible to find her.
“Dad!”
He wanted his family to help.
“No.” Simon immediately refused.
We can send people to search for her in secret, but we can’t make it a big deal. The whole internet is watching you now. Besides, what will everyone think of you if you bring a criminal home?
“That is why…” Simon sighed. “We just have to find her the hard way.”
Stephen’s stumbled backward. The light that had lit up his eyes when he heard that Snow was still alive was extinguished again.

Finding her the hard way would take the rest of his life, and he would have to live with his guilt toward Snow, knowing that she was alive.
“No!”
Stephen broke down again. This time, it hurt even more than he thought Snow was dead.
To him, the greatest pain was not her death, that he could not apologize to her, or that he could not give her happiness. It was knowing that she was alive but never being able to find her!
“Ethan, I’ll give you another 50 million dollars. Please tell me. I really want to see her!”
“Stop asking him for help!” Simon was also getting angry.
Having Ethan manipulate them like that was too humiliating for the Quinns.
