Chapter 29
“Hello?” George was in quite a good mood.
The situation had caught the federal government’s attention, and there was talk about an investigation. If the situation proved true, not only would Ethan face punishment, but they would also be rewarded.
That was perfect. Not only would it boost his presence in the federal government, potentially paying the way for a future cabinet position, but he could also gain nationwide recognition. It was a win–win situation with no downsides!
“George, we have a problem!” Stephen was frantic. “A big problem!”
The smile vanished from George’s face. “What problem?”
He was puzzled. Stephen was supposed to be opening the suitcases to check Ethan’s embezzled funds, so why was there suddenly bad news?
“Did Ethan have an accomplice who burned all the money? Or did someone help Ethan escape?”
Stephen said, “It’s neither of those.”
George breathed a sigh of relief. “Then why panic? As long as we have Ethan, there’s nothing to worry about.”
“There’s no money!” Stephen sounded on the verge of tears. “Those suitcases aren’t filled with embezzled funds. They’re full of thank–you letters from various regions and fan mail!
“What? What do you mean?” George was too stunned to process what Stephen was saying.
“Ethan is an author and director. Globally popular works like ‘The Cosmic Conundrum“,” The Globetrotters‘, and ‘An Aquatic Adventure are all his creations.
“He’s been using the money he earned from writing novels and making movies to support impoverished areas and disaster–stricken regions… The suitcases are filled with thank- you letters from those people!”
George finally understood, and at that moment, his mind went blank. He staggered back several steps, collapsing onto the sofa, looking lost.
The suitcases were not filled with embezzled funds but thank–you letters from poor and disaster–struck areas!
“How can this be?”
He was paralyzed. Why were there so many thank–you letters that they had to be stored in suitcases, and how did those suitcases fill those houses?

Chapter 20
“Never mind how this happened,” Stephen quickly interjected. “You haven’t told the federal government about this, have you?”
George immediately snapped back to reality. He had almost forgotten about that!
“Damn it!” he cursed outright.
Then, he immediately hung up and tried to call Stephen’s father, Simon.
Simon was in a great mood, bragging about his son’s glorious achievements on his phone, so George’s call failed to get through.
“Pick up. Please pick up!” George was beside himself, wishing he could teleport to the capital right now.
Just then, the reporters arrived. Given the importance of a task assigned by the federal government, they took it seriously and came immediately.
Seeing the large crowd, the reporters were thrilled. They had not expected to stumble upon such a huge scandal in Riveria, but they had just been informed of a major corruption case being uncovered!
They eagerly entered the villa but quickly noticed something odd. Everyone’s eyes were red and puffy, as if they had been crying, except for a disheveled man sitting on the floor.
