The reporter picked up the letter, initially puzzled about why he was being asked to read it. How could a single letter answer anything? However, as he read the contents, he felt a shock run through his body, and his eyes widened in surprise. 

“A thank–you letter? And it’s addressed to Ethan Rivers?” 

His gaze shifted to the suitcases and he quickly crouched down to search through them. To his astonishment, he found that every single letter was a thank–you note from someone. 

“No need to keep looking,” said a bank employee standing nearby. “There are eighty- seven suitcases here, and each one is filled to the brim with thank–you letters.” 

The reporter froze as realization dawned on him. 

Ethan Rivers was not a corrupt official! On the contrary, he was a great man who had helped countless people, so much so that thank–you letters filled an entire villa. 

“Ethan owns over a dozen properties in this neighborhood, all filled with suitcases containing these letters.” 

The reporter gulped, and his hands started shaking. He realized how disrespectful his earlier question about Ethan had been. 

With a shaky voice, he said to the cameraman, “Start recording,” 

That information needed to be reported to the federal government immediately. Ethan was no corrupt official! 

At that moment, Stephen snapped out of his thoughts. Seeing the reporters and the cameramen, he immediately realized they were sent by the federal government. 

His face suddenly turned pale. The federal government was about to find out about it. What was he to do now? 

The reporter quickly gathered the evidence and began reporting back to the federal government. 

Meanwhile, in the capital, Simon was boasting about his son’s great achievements to others. 

“Hey, Dave, did you hear? My son has cracked a big case today! He caught a major corrupt official who embezzled over a billion dollars.” 

“Hello, Mike, do you want to grab dinner? My son just caught a corrupt official who embezzled over a billion dollars today.” 

“Frank, how’s your air conditioning installation going? Did you know my son…

In just a short amount of time, half of the prominent familles in the capital knew about Stephen’s deed. Everyone was annoyed yet incredibly envious, 

A corrupt official who embezzled over a billion dollars would make nationwide headlines, and Simon’s son was about to be famous. Once that happened, he would be unrivaled among his peers across the country, and other familles would pale In comparison! 

However, it was not long before the truth reached the federal government. It turned of that everything Simon reported was false! 

Ethan was not a corrupt official. On the contrary, he had used his own money to help. thousands upon thousands of people! There were so many thank–you letters that they could not even fit in one house! 

Unaware of that, Simon was still bragging on the phone. 

“Bob, do you have time to come over for dinner? It’s nothing special, it’s just that my son. 

Before he could finish boasting, the person on the other end cut him off. “You were about to say your son caught a corrupt official who embezzled billions of dollars, right?”
