Xavier?
I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Yvonne's number. Did she really allow him to use her phone to call me?
"Is your Mommy not there?"
Xavier said softly under the sheets, "Mommy isn't in the room. Daddy, when are you coming to see me?"
Xavier had hesitated for a long time before calling me. He was afraid that I would be annoyed at him. At the same time, he did not want me to think that he was not independent.
"Xavier, I'm in the middle of something. Can I—"
"Mr. Joplin, we came up with a new program. It's…" Murphy interrupted.
Xavier overheard it and asked, "Daddy, are you in trouble?"
"I'm a little busy. Can I call you once I'm done?" I said politely to Xavier. I didn't want him to think that I was abandoning him, but at the same time, I was still worried about Lorraine.
"Daddy, I can help you," Xavier said anxiously. Perhaps it was because he was still sick, but he sounded a little meek.
"Help me?"
"I can create a program that can help you find someone. It can even get to places without any cell signal."
The programmer next to me heard what Xavier said and signaled for me to pass the phone to him. Although I was still doubtful about what Xavier said, I still handed the phone over. "Go ahead."
I didn't know what their conversation was about, but I saw how the worry on the programmer's face started to fade away.
A few minutes later, the programmer handed the phone back to me and said with excitement, "Mr. Joplin, we've found a solution."
A solution? Only after a few exchanges with Xavier?
I was still a little skeptical as I listened to Xavier instructing my staff on the phone. Half an hour later, they found out where Lorraine was.
"She's over here."
"What is this place?"
