The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 129

Yvonne was clearly treating Xavier like an object that belonged to her.

I wasn't going to hide my exceptional son.

"Xavier should be out going for competitions, not just stuck to being your obedient son." I could see that Xavier truly loved programming. If he were to participate in competitions, he would surely win.

"Cole, you listen up. I won't allow you to take Xavier to—"

I hung up before she could finish her sentence. No one was going to stop me.

"Xavier, do you want to come with me to the office tomorrow to present your program?"

Yvonne and I could never come to an agreement. Rather than continue quarreling, I should just ask Xavier his opinion.

"Can I?" Xavier's eyes lit up brightly. He had heard that Jonas had been to my office previously. He wanted to go as well, but he was afraid that Yvonne would get angry, which was why he had never once brought it up.

"Of course, you can. You're so talented. Everyone in the office will like you."

At the thought of people in the office, I suddenly thought of Lorraine.

If it were her, she'd surely support me.

I shook my head, getting rid of all the pointless thoughts in my mind. I gently patted Xavier and Jonas on their backs, putting them to sleep.

I finally got them to sleep when I received Yvonne's threatening text. I had not been looking at my phone before this.

Only at that moment did I realize she had been sending messages to me after I hung up on her earlier.

"You can't take Xavier to the office.

"Cole, are you seeing my messages or not? Xavier is my son. I'm his guardian.

"Call me back right away."
