Xavier turned his head away. "I wouldn't have come to see you if Daddy hadn't made me do it."
Jonas snapped back, "Who would want you to come?"
I felt quite uneasy as I watched the two brothers bicker like this.
"Xavier, come apologize. And from now on, you're not allowed to stay in the entertainment industry."
Xavier said unhappily, "I can apologize, but I'm not leaving the entertainment industry."
He stood to the side, seemingly unwilling to move no matter what I said.
"Daddy, please make him leave. I don't want to see him." Jonas suddenly started coughing. Yvonne gently patted his back while she shot me a look.
"Xavier, come with me," I said.
Xavier was dejected as he followed me to the hallway. He stood off to the side and as he shuffled his feet.
"Why did you stop walking?" I asked.
"I didn't mean to do it. I didn't know those people would treat Jonas like that either. But I can't leave the entertainment industry." He clearly liked his current environment and knew that nothing he said to me would help.
"That's no reason to hurt your brother," I said.
He protested, "I didn't do it on purpose."
He had already called his mother to pick him up anyway. He thought that I would have no choice when she came.
Xavier seemed completely different from before. I remembered when he had no interest in the entertainment industry at all. How did he change so much in a few days?
He looked incredibly stubborn and refused to back down.
I was just about to try persuading him when the sound of high heels clicking on the floor interrupted us. Yvonne looked exhausted as she hurried her way to us.
