This was my first time hearing about Xavier's injury. I wasn't sure about the details, but I guessed that it probably had something to do with those fans of his.
Yvonne immediately lost her temper when she heard me. "If you hadn't provoked those people, how could Xavier have gotten hurt? You should be compensating me."
She was putting the blame on me, as if everything was my fault.
"This is all your own doing, and you actually want Jonas to help you now? Stop dreaming," I retorted.
I pulled Jonas behind me. I would never allow Yvonne to drag Jonas into the entertainment industry.
Yvonne could sense my displeasure from my cold tone.
"Then what about Xavier's endorsement?" She tried to get me to relax.
I stepped closer to her and lowered my tone as well. "What does that have to do with Jonas?"
Even if those people came begging for a replacement for Xavier, it had nothing to do with Jonas.
After finally sending her away, Jonas started to worry. "Daddy, will Mommy really be okay by herself?"
As Jonas watched Yvonne leave, he suddenly felt some sympathy for her.
Jonas tugged at my hand. "Mommy said she just needs my help for one endorsement, and only until Xavier recovers."
"Jonas, don't forget what your Great-Grandma told you. Also, she wouldn't even have come to see you if Xavier wasn't unwell." My words were harsh, especially for a child. It was cruel to try and make him realize that his mother didn't love him.
I saw the look of disbelief in his eyes and felt my heart ache. I pulled him into my arms and gently comforted him, "Don't worry. No matter what happens, I'll always be here for you."
I would support Jonas unconditionally. It didn't matter what the circumstances were.
