Chris had a sly smile on his face. Even though he was trying hard to keep his expression in check, I could still see his shoulders shaking with laughter.
"What's so wrong about it?" At some point, Dad had appeared behind them.
He stood there with a serious expression on his face and both hands in his pockets.
"This is something your grandmother decided and not something you snatched away, so what's so wrong about that?" After he said that, he couldn't resist glancing at me. He sneered at me, and his expression seemed to be one of disappointment.
"On top of that, you've always owned part of the company. You should've been the general manager a long time ago," Henry said.
Chris had a stunned look on his face when he heard that. He hurriedly put his hands up and explained to me, "Cole, he doesn't mean it that way. Don't worry, I'd never try to take anything away from you."
The way he reacted made it seem like I constantly harassed him.
Sure enough, Dad questioned me unhappily, "Cole, what have you been saying to your brother? Why is he so afraid of you?"
I felt amused as I looked at the performance they were putting on to take away my position as general manager.
"You've been rehearsing this little performance for a long time, haven't you?" I mocked.
They were so coordinated in painting me as the villain.
"Anyone who doesn't know better would think I'm the illegitimate child here." My words seemed to hit Chris like a dagger. His eyes, which were full of glee just moments ago, suddenly reddened.
He was a grown man, but he was still incredibly adept at being pitiful. The sight made Dad want to hug and console him.
Chris said, "Cole, I know I don't come from a good background. I know I don't deserve to be your brother. I—"
