As soon as Yolanda finished speaking, Henry slapped her across the face. "You've disappointed me deeply."

Tears welled up in Yolanda's eyes as she clutched her face in disbelief. "You hit me?"

He had never laid a hand on her before. Since she was a child, Henry had always been kind and gentle in her eyes. Yet this time, he actually hit her.

"I've raised you for all these years, and your family just needs you to make some contributions to us now. Yet you keep trying to resist, and you even went to see Cole. Don't you know why the Joplin family ended up in this state? It's all because of that brother of yours," Henry spat.

Yolanda was still reeling from the shock of being hit by Henry when he started berating her.

"Contributions? Your idea of contributions is just selling me off," Yolanda replied.

What followed was another slap. Henry looked at Yolanda and snarled, "Just do as you're told. Stop talking back."

He was slowly showing Yolanda his true colors.

Henry had felt guilt and pity for Yolanda in the past, but now, he just felt that she was immature and disobedient.

He said, "I found you such a good family. There are many who would kill to take your place."

Henry was driving very quickly. He deliberately drove in the middle of the road to make sure that Yolanda couldn't jump out.

He continued, "You're going to go back home and think about where you went wrong. When the day comes, you'll get married."

"I won't marry," Yolanda said.

Her face reddened as she shouted at Henry, "I don't want to get married! I don't want to be your daughter! I don't want to be a part of the Joplin family!"

"Do you really think you belong to the Joplin family?" Henry's words were scathing.

"But if you help the Joplin family raise the money we need, I might be able to plead with your grandmother to let you visit us." Henry seemed like a different person at that moment.
