Chapter 106
When Madeline woke up, it was already the day after Thanksgiving.
She rubbed her head, got up, and opened her eyes in the soft bed. “Ugh…”
She drank some wine the previous day when having dinner. Madeline wondered why she was so dizzy.
“I don’t know how long I’ve slept,” murmured Madeline.
Madeline took a look at her phone and found it was just over ten o’clock in the morning.
She breathed a sigh of relief. Then, she frowned and realized that it was not like it seemed.
“Wait, ten o’clock? It’s already ten o’clock the next day?”
She pursed her lips. It was clear that she used to be very good at drinking.
She pondered if her body could not get used to it after being rebirth.
It was strange.

Madeline took a shower and changed her clothes. Then, she slowly went downstairs, forgetting what had happened the previous day.
Gavin sat on the couch and watched her walk downstairs. Gavin waved to her. “Come here.”
Madeline walked over in confusion and sat next to him. “What’s wrong?”
Gavin put his arms around her shoulder and whispered in her ear, “You got a job today. You got up so late today. Can you still make it? Maddie, do you want me to drive you in my sports car there? Otherwise, I’m afraid you won’t be able to earn that 60 dollars.”
Madeline frowned slightly. “What? What job did I get? I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
Gavin found that Madeline had forgotten it.
Then, he reminded her again.
Madeline bit her lips. “Did I… promise Charlotte to host the class reunion in her hotel?”
She did not quite understand what was going on.
Although she and Charlotte were in the same class in the 12th Grade, the Wilbur family was very rich, as they owned hotels.
Naturally, Charlotte was not in the same circle as a poor student like Madeline.
Madeline thought, “How could she ask me to work the part–time job?”
Ring!
The phone rang urgently.
Madeline answered the phone.
Charlotte said in a hurry, “Madeline, where are you? I sent you the time and place through WhatsApp. Don’t tell me that you’re not coming. This class reunion is about our seniors in high school. They are all rich people. That’s why I offered such a good job to you. Don’t let down my kindness! Where can you make 60 dollars for hosting an event for a few hours? Come here right now. There are only ten minutes left!”
“No, yesterday I was drunk-” Madeline was about to speak, but Charlotte hung up the phone.
Madeline was speechless. Hearing the muffled laughter, she turned to look at Gavin.
He was already smiling.
“It’s okay, Maddie. We don’t need the money. Who is that? She looks down on you. I’ll teach her some lessons. I promise I won’t let you be wronged, okay? Don’t be so sad.” Then, he pinched Madeline’s cheek and continued, “Good girl, be happy”
Madeline breathed a sigh of relief and looked at the time and place on her phone.

Chapter 106
It was only ten minutes left.
The most unbelievable thing was that Charlotte had sent her 60 dollars the previous day.
Madeline was so drunk but accepted the money.
She was speechless.
Madeline grunted, “It’s all because of my useless hand.”
Madeline did not care about her bare face and rushed out with only her phone to hail a taxi.
Gavin followed. “Maddie if you really want to go, I can drive you. You-”
“You’re not allowed to follow me.” Madeline turned to point at Gavin and added, “You didn’t stop me yesterday, so don’t talk to me now.” Gavin raised his hand and compromised. “Okay. Call me when you’re done. I’ll pick you up.”
“Okay. Keep my grandparents‘ company.”
Gavin swiftly agreed, “Sure. Don’t worry.”
Madeline rushed to Grand Clement Hotel.
It was already 11 a.m. when she arrived.
Charlotte waited outside the private room with a darkened expression, followed by Samuel Stewart, the manager.
Charlotte snorted and spoke with some ill intentions. “Madeline is so slow. Is she still dressing up at home? It’s Bryan who wants to see Madeline today. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have kindly let her earn 60 dollars. This pauper country bumpkin is indeed the same as before. I don’t know why Bryan likes her.”
Samuel smiled mockingly. “Mr. Labiche has always been a playboy. This time when he returns, he uses the opportunity to meet the person he wants. Anyway, it’s not a bad thing. Samuel owes us a favor. Maybe Mr. Labiche will take care of our hotel in the future.”
Charlotte nodded. “Of course. The Labiche family is wealthy. We can earn a lot with the collaboration with them.”
While they were talking, the sound of a rapid footstep came.
Madeline appeared not far away.
Charlotte looked up and frowned in contempt. “Why are you here like this? Don’t you know to put on some makeup?”
Although she said so, she looked at Madeline’s face in surprise.
Madeline used to have heavy bangs, wearing black–rimmed glasses and was timid.
At that moment, she looked so beautiful.
It was no wonder Bryan was interested in Madeline when he saw Madeline’s photo.
“Go change your clothes first. You’re unpresentable like this. Hmph! Come with me.” Charlotte gestured with her fingers as if she was ordering a housekeeper.
Samuel glanced at Madeline sympathetically and reckoned the latter was pretty.
Inside the private room, Bryan sat in the main seat. The big table was full of people.
They were all around the age of 26.
There were men and women in the room.
One of them was Harley, an old acquaintance of Madeline.
Harley, the former excellent graduate, was the genius who got the first place to enter university.
At that moment, he was sitting in an inconspicuous corner, and no one talked to him.
