Only then did Sharon give Gavin a proper look. She had noticed this handsome young man who had been following Madeline for a while now. With such looks, he was hard to overlook. However, she didn’t think he was anyone worth a second look. 

Sharon smirked, “Young people really don’t think before they speak. This is the Larson residence. I did arrive in a hurry. Yet, you have no right to comment on the gifts I bring, right! You’re just an outsider, after all” 

Layla frowned. She hadn’t seen Cavin’s skills yet and quickly tried to smooth things over. “Exactly. Maddie, why did you bring someone like him back! He’s so rude, treating Sharon with such an attitude. In Japrium, who dares to speak to Sharon like that?” 

Layla snorted. “These people from small towns are so unworldly. They speak without thinking” 

Thomas didn’t say much, “Sharon, don’t be upset. This gift is really beautiful and valuable. Maddie will love it.” 

Thomas gave Madeline a look, gesturing for her to quickly take the gif 

Harley suddenly spoke up, “Mom, Dad, please don’t act like that. Treat everyone equally, especially when they are quests” He frowned slightly. looking quite serious. 

Last time at the restaurant, the Labiche family’s attitude toward Gavin was evident to him. He thought for sure they would be taught a lesson. But soon after, he found out that the influential Labiche family had surprisingly gone bankrupt. How scary! 

Although Thomas didn’t know why the Labiche family went bankrupt and lamented over it for a bit, Harley knew the truth. He had secretly wondered what kind of incredible power it would take to bring down such a prestigious family. 

“This is someone Maddie brought, so naturally, he is our esteemed guest.” Harley highlighted the words “esteemed guest“, making his insinuation quite clear. 

“Esteemed guess, huh?” Sharon’s face turned sour. Madeline or Winslet might have some marital benefits for her, but she didn’t take a son from the Larson family seriously at all. He spoke up for an outsider like this. It was quite interesting. 

“He’s an esteemed guest at the Larson residence. I pale in comparison, scoffed Sharon. “Is giving a gift now a wrongdoing? Even in the Larson residence in Japrism, no one dares to disregard me like this” 

Calm down, Sharon. He’s just a kid and doesn’t know better, Layla quickly apologized. She was surprised by Harley’s attitude. Since he was expelled. he’d been quiet at home, sometimes not speaking at all. She wondered, Why does he choose to create trouble for Sharon now! 

Layla became aware of what was happening and gave Harley a closer look, noticing her son’s serious expression. She wondered, “Is this brat someone we shouldn’t mess with? 

“Mom, this is Maddie’s third brother Gavin,” said Harley. 

Layla felt like her head was about to explode. A chill ran down her spine. Even though Sharon was visibly upset, she couldn’t focus on that right now, Layla thought, Madeline’s eldest brother is Caleb, the second brother is Nolan, and then there is a third brother. Can Gavin be someone simple! No wonder I found Gavin familiar. Can it be that he has appeared with Caleb before” 

Layla’s palms were sweating. She chastised herself for being careless. Stuck in a tight spot, she really didn’t know what to do. 

Thomas, Layla, do you guys also think my gift is too cheap!” Sharon’s expression was indifferent, her attitude becoming colder. Thomas quickly tried to smile, but Layla held onto his arm. 

“It seems that your family has seen so many nice things that my little gift doesn’t thrill you” Sharon sneered. Her tone was sarcastic, as if to say that giving a gift was meant well, but it really put her in a tight spot. 

Sharon muttered to herself in annoyance. Thomas’s family is just a bunch of down–and–out folks, yet they still want something good from me! Have they ever seen anything valuable? Yet they dare to be choosy. No wonder they’re stuck here. With an aturade like this, they totally deserve it Sharon turned to Winslet. “Winnie, do you like it?” 

I love it If you give it to me, I’ll wear it every day and treasure it.”Winslet’s eyes sparkled with a sweet smile. “But.. should such a nice thing go to Maddie instead? I’m injured right now, so I can’t really make good use of it. Your thoughtful gift should be for Maddie.” 

Sharon handed the gift to Winslet. Winslet’s acting was awkward, but it saved her from embarrassment. Winslet was obedient, though she definitely wasn’t as competent as Madeline. But at least she was easy to handle. 

Winder accepted the gill. Layla and Thomas both breathed a sigh of relief. 

Sharon looked at Madeline and Garin. “Since you’re not impressed by my little trinket, why not enlighten me with your gift!“ 

Gavin took a small log out of his pocket and placed it on the coffee table. “It’s just a little trinket, but it’s much more valuable than yours.”

Sharon looked slightly contemptuous, thinking. ‘How can this seemingly plain box be more valuable than mine? She lifted her chin. “Let’s take a 

look then.”
