Chapter 124
Sharon’s scornful gaze became serious. She murmured to herself, “This…”“
Everyone’s attention was captured by the content of the box. Inside, nestled in black velvet, lay a brilliant large sapphire.
It was daytime and the roots wasn’t deliberately lit. Yet even in natural light, the gem was stunningly brilliant. Every facet glimmered, with a blue that was pure and without blemish. Based on its quality alone, it was undoubtedly very v
y valuable.
That mesmerizing blue reflected in everyone’s eyes. Sharon could instantly tell that this gem was auction–grade jewelry, and certainly not something found in Acocesser
Her mouth turned down, disbelief in her eyes. Her expression grew more serious, and after a moment, she sighed, “Could this be… the Heart of Snow?
Without hesitation Winslet asked, “The Heart of Snow? What’s that?”
Sharon stared at the gemstone without blinking, swallowed hard, and showed a hint of admiration in her eyes. “A while back, a top–grade sapphire was mined overseas and was transported to Skyline Grand Hotel in Japrium for auction about a month ago. It was the centerpiece of that auction. This gem was cut from an entire sapphire, with not a trace of impurity, and its color is as stunning as a queen’s eyes.”
“Oh my gosh,” Winslet gasped, instinctively glancing at Gavin. She thought, This man is so young and handsome, yet so wealthy?‘ She muttered to herself, “It sounds so impressive. It must be worth a fortune”
Layla perked up at the mention of its extr
extraordinary value, exclaiming with excitement. “Wow, doesn’t this make it a renowned piece? It must be worth a lot when it is sold, right? Items like this are typically for collectors.”
Sharon couldn’t help but feel like they all had no sense of luxury. “Who would sell jewelry of this standard? It’s something to pass down for generations, not something you’d easily let go of
Layla and Thomas both inspected the Heart of Snow seriously. Layla, especially, felt an urge to its incredible value, she held back. If she annoyed Gavin, she’d surely get in trouble again.

Layla forcibly held back her urge, looking at Sharon. “Sharon, how much do you think this gemstone is worth?”
“The Heart of Snow is worth over 16 million dollars. Sharon said, raising her chin slightly. She knew this precisely because she had attended the
auction too.
“16 million dollars!” Even Thomas was a bit surprised, leaning in to get a closer look. Each detail of the gem was so perfect. He clicked his tongue in admiration, realizing why it was worth 16 million dollars. Its beauty was truly captivating.
As a man, he didn’t know much about jewelry, but he was aware that when Larson Group had good returns, they could earn millions a year. He would have to save for many years, without any other expenses, to afford such a small gemstone.
Thomas looked at Gavin with great appreciation. “You’ve really shown Maddie a lot of favor, giving something so valuable”
Gavin laughed. “It’s just a little trinket. I made it a necklace for Maddie.” He didn’t think much of it. He had given Madeline a supplementary card with even more money, but she hadn’t spent any of it. As a man, he didn’t have many hobbies, but he earned a lot. If Madeline didn’t spend it, he wouldn’t know how to spend the money.
Madeline smiled lightly. “Gavin, you shouldn’t have. It’s such an expensive gift. I won’t be able to match it on your next birthday
“You don’t need to give me anything. Gavin said, picking up the sapphire and placing it in Madeline’s hand. “See how well this color suits you! You have sun–kissed skin, Maddie. This gemstone was made for you. Not giving it to you would be a waste”
Madeline knew Gavin was generous with compliments for her. She put the gemstone back in its box. It was beautiful, and she really liked all kinds of sparkly things.
Winslet’s throat tightened with bitterness. She looked down at her gold–inlaid emerald bracelet, which Madeline had no interest in keeping. It may only be worth a few thousand dollars and seemed like trash compared to Madeline’s 10–million–dollar gemstone. No wonder Madeline wasn’t Interested. It made Wimlet feel like she was scavenging for scraps.
Jealousy swelled inside her. Once, Benjamin had given her a pricey diamond necklace just to make her happy, while Madeline received cheap trinkets to drive her. But now, in a short time, she only had a necklace worth a few thousand dollars, while Madeline easily got gifts worth what a family might not earn in several years. Madeline, who was once no match for her in every way, had taken off and surpassed her, leaving her far behind.
“I’m so envious of Maddie. When she was at home back then, she was cherished by her brothers and fiancé. Now that she’s away, she has the brothers from the orphanage doting on her and so many suitors, Winslet said with a touch of envy. Then she intentionally added. “Unlike me. I’ve never been liked by any guys. I wish I were like you, having men flocking around me wherever I go.”
Madeline gave a little smirk. She thought, Winslet really reversing the facts! At home, Dad and Morn love Winslet. My brothers adore Winslet,
