Chapter 39 

Madeline waited in the room. 

The only thing left in the room about her was an hourglass. 

She turned the hourglass and lay on the table, looking at the sand flowing down bit by bit. 

“Madeline.” Thomas came in from outside. 

Madeline’s heart skipped a beat, and she turned around. 

“Did they finally agree?” she thought to herself. 

She knew that there would always be a way to convince them with Winslet around.

Just sign it now.” Thomas told her. “You can disown the Larson family. And we’ll go to a lawyer to change our will 

tomorrow 

He continued to say, “If you have any other ideas, feel free to bring them up. After all, I still see you as my daughter.” 

Madeline looked at her father’s face with a hint of self–mockery in her eyes. “I have nothing to ask for anymore,” “This feels good.”

Madeline lay on the table, her ink–black long hair cascading over her shoulders. She slightly turned her face, appearing to have a fair and lovely complexioni. 

There was no hint of light in her eyes. 

Behind her was the pitch–black night, and she was wearing cheap clothes. 

Thomas suddenly felt guilty. “Maddie, after following your wishes tomorrow, we’ll take you to buy some clothes,” he said. “During the year you are going to the countryside, you will be given enough living expenses. As for the 20,000 dollars, I will still give it to you.”
