Chapter 49
Caleb held Madeline’s hand.
Caleb smiled and bent down to kiss the back of her hand.
“Maddie, I will protect you from now on,” Caleb stood up straight. He held Madeline in his arms and tenderly caressed her hair.
His tone suddenly became gloomy, “However, if you dare to leave my side again, I won’t be so nice anymore. You should have listened to me long ago, right, Maddie?”
Madeline was stunned.
She was afraid of the Larson brothers.
Because their possessiveness was too terrifying.
She was afraid that they became crazy if she left their side.
However, their affection for her was also genuine.
They did not expect anything from her in return.
She leaned against Caleb and said, “Yes, Caleb. I get it.”
Caleb smiled brightly.
The hostility in his eyes had also disappeared.
As long as Madeline followed his wishes, he would behave normally.
Madeline looked at Caleb and became lost in recollection.
Caleb was still dressed in black clothes as before, maintaining his tall and lean physique. While he might appear slender, his clothes concealed a well–toned body underneath.
He had beautiful eyes.
Even when he wore black clothes, they appeared remarkably textured.
He seemed unruly and untamed.
Madeline lowered her gaze and touched his fingers. “Caleb, I know I was wrong. I won’t run away like that again.”
“It’s fine. Just don’t repeat your mistake again. I won’t blame you, Caleb chuckled, his eyes filled with affection. “I will still love you as always.”
Everyone around them dared not speak.
They simply remained standing in silence.
However, the bodyguards around them looked fiercely intimidating.
It was evident that they were all part of the underground scene.
It seemed that the CEO of Glorious Group was a beauty with a mysterious background.

Chapter 49)
Madeline followed Caleb out of the airport, and outside, a group of people in black clothes rushed forward.
All those people bowed the moment she came out. “Welcome back, Ms. Larson!”
People wished to be close to the CEO of Glorious Group.
However, none of them dared to approach after looking at the scene.
It was full of people who were all there to welcome the female CEO.
The night sky was clear, adorned with an expanse of shimmering stars.
There were luxurious cars and men in suits along the road.
The scene was grand.
Madeline walked to the side of the road with a bunch of bright red roses in her arms and got into a sports car.
Caleb took the driver’s seat and closed the door with a loud bang.
Madeline took off her sunglasses and mask, revealing her beautiful face.
She sat next to Caleb and felt an immense sense of security, yet it was as if she had entered a completely different realm.
She needed to be more careful. After all, Caleb would be a terrifying person if he got angry.
Caleb glanced over at Madeline.
Madeline had fully grown into an adult.
She looked very different from before.
“II wish I could keep Madeline for myself,” Caleb thought.
“Maddie, have you figured out your plan to teach the Larson family a lesson?
“Don’t forget that bastard from the Moore family,” Madeline added.
“How about we arrange things so they don’t survive the night?” Caleb proposed.
He pinched his wrist, adorned with a string of rosary beads.
Caleb was a Christian.
However, his prideful nature was far from the behavior expected of someone in his religion.
Madeline reached out and touched the rosary beads around his wrist. “You’re a Christian. Thou shalt not kill,” she reminded.
Caleb let out a throaty laugh as if he had just heard the joke of the century.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he spoke, “Maddie, I can make you any promise except for this one.”
With a wry smile, he lowered his voice and said, “I want to kill them for bullying you!”
Caleb paused for a moment, then nodded and continued, “I’ve already figured out a thousand ways to kill them.”
Madeline’s expression softened upon hearing that.
She appeared somewhat lonely. “Caleb, I understand you. I’ll take care of it on my own. I don’t want you guys getting

involved. Remember, I used to be a part of the Phantom Organization. I’m an adult now. I’ll handle it.”
Caleb sighed and resumed his indifferent demeanor. “I promise to let you handle it on your own. However, if you could manage it, how did you get bullied like that?”
She was so determined when she disappeared back then.
It hurt him greatly.
She was so ruthless that she didn’t even give him a chance to salvage the situation.
He knew that Madeline held a soft spot for those people.
‘You can’t bear to see Benjamin die, can you?
Why don’t you treat me the same way?‘ Caleb said inwardly.
Caleb was overwhelmed by his jealousy. He stepped on the accelerator, causing the car to speed away.
Madeline was startled. “Caleb! You can’t drive this fast in the city!”
Despite her skill in racing, she couldn’t tolerate his reckless driving in the city.
“My car, my rules. Are you scared, Maddie?”
Madeline gritted her teeth. She knew Caleb would act this way, just as he always had.
She tried to persuade him again, saying, “Caleb, I’m getting angry because you’re driving so fast!”
Caleb was furious.
However, he still reduced the speed of his car.
“You know I can’t bear to see you angry,” Caleb said.
The people following behind them couldn’t understand. “Why is the boss suddenly driving like a snail?“.
One of them said, “We can’t question what the boss does.”
They drove all the way to Caleb’s mansion.
That was the extent of the escort for the other cars, after which they drove off.
Soon, only their car remained.
When Madeline was about to get out of the car, she found the door was locked. She turned her

toward Caleb.
Her expression remained cold. “Aren’t you going to let me out of the car?”
Caleb leaned over and gently pinched Madeline’s chin. “Maddie, promise me you won’t run away this time.”
His gaze was profound, tinged with a disturbing sense of obsession.
“Otherwise, I don’t know what I might do. I wish you you either.”
