Chapter 6 

Winslet mediated gently, “Maddie, you really should cherish Benjamin. I’m sure you know how many women out there wish to be engaged to him but can only dreain” 

She deliberately displayed a look of envy mixed with disappointment. “You will definitely understand and take good care of Benjamin once you’re a little older and wiser. Besides, we only rushed back from the mountain retreat today upon hearing that he’s here,” 

Winslet gazed at Benjamin dismally, her eyes brimming with sorrow that tugged at one’s heartstrings.

While Winslet was the Larson family’s daughter, she was a product of a switch–up. 

The real daughter of the Larson family was Madeline. 

Benjamin saw Winslet’s gaze and assumed she had feelings for him as well. His heart clenched, and he felt utterly upset. 

“Winnie, that’s enough. This has nothing to do with you.” 

“But But I don’t want to see you be wronged, she replied hesitantly, with heartache written all over her face. 

Their intimate interaction did not escape Madeline’s eyes.

Madeline knew Winslet all too well. “With all your fussing over him, it sounds almost as if a mother hen is clucking over her chicks,” she mocked. 

At this moment, Anne happened to come out of the kitchen, clueless about what happened. 

“I’ve just started making some mushroom soup. It’ll take some time before it’s ready to be served.” 

Madeline smirked and waved her hand as she made her way toward the stairs. 

Meanwhile, Winslet’s expression turned dark and gloomy, looking exceptionally unpleasant. 

Layla sighed. “Mr. Moore, please don’t be mad. It’s no secret that Maddie has always been rude and uncivilized… I’ll let Winnie stay to keep you company. After all, you two got along well before, right? Oh, is this the necklace you bought for her! It’s lovely 

Benjamin hurriedly comforted Winslet, “Winnie, let’s not be angry. Here, take a look at the gift I got you” 

The latter saw the necklace worth 36,000 dollars and immediately fell deeply in love with it. 

She recognized its brand, but her family wouldn’t buy it for her at will as it was exceedingly costly. 

The gorgeous jewelry sparkled brightly under the light, naturally contrasting with the glass necklace on the side that had been unboxed.

“This necklace is so pretty, but wouldn’t Maddie be furious that you gifted me something so

Her eyes roved over the other necklace of inferior quality, and her smile brightened even more. 

“Sure enough. Madeline only deserves such cheap goods, she thought. 

“I like it very much. Thank you, Benjamin,” 

Madeline took in the duo’s interaction from the corner of the stairs with an indecipherable look in her eyes. 

She couldn’t understand why they decided to rope her into their relationship and toy with her when they made the perfect pain… 

Chapter 6 

Just then, the fifth sibling. Lucas Larson, came upstairs with a drink in hand. “Tsk, tsk. Jealousy surely does make one hideous and twisted. Which part of you from head to toe can compare with Winnie? It’s normal that she is more lovable than you,” 

He blatantly gave Madeline a once–over and spat out the words unkindly, “If I were you, I’d just find a wall to bang my head against to death lest I remain an eyesore here.” 

She looked toward Lucas. “How nosy, I heard you gaming at night. You sounded like a complete noob” 

She chuckled before adding coldly. “If I were you, I’d simply quit lest 1 make a fool out of myself!” 

“Come again!” 

Lucas squeezed the bottle in his hand until it became out of shape while an air of hostility formed around him. 

Abang sounded as he hurled it at the wall beside Madeline. Then, he grabbed her collar with one hand and pressed her roughly against the wall. glowering at her with his wolf–like, enraged eyes. 

“Don’t think I will let you off solely because your last name is Larson! I’ve never thought of you as family. So, don’t try to get close to me, understand? Just because Winnie can joke with me doesn’t mean you can. Who in the world do you think you are?”

He could take anything anyone threw at him except when they ridiculed him for being a noob gamer. That would undoubtedly set him off. 

“I’m merely stating facts” Madeline’s long lashes fluttered slightly as she taunted, “Since you’re so capable of bullying a girl like me, how about we play a one–to–one match? What kind of man are you to behave so timidly in–game yet get physically violent with me!” 

In actuality, she was very good–looking. 

It was just that her former thick bangs and cumbersome, ugly black–rimmed glasses had concealed her facial features.

that she had a refreshing hairstyle, she looked rather attractive when she raised her eyes and derided others.

Everything she had secretly done to please her brothers only ended up causing her to be trampled on mercilessly.
