It was obvious that there was a phone call, but because of the way the phone was angled, Cindy couldn’t see the exact number.
However, an impatient Aurora immediately hung up. “I wonder what these people have been doing all day. Can’t they just live their own lives? Why do they have to gossip about other people?”
Ian’s gaze fell on the darkened phone screen. “It’s still the previous number?”
She hummed in agreement. “I fell asleep just now and when I woke up, I realized there was a missed call from this number. These heartless reporters are never stopping their calls.”
Since Cindy did not know what exactly was going on, she thought it was the media harassing Aurora and said, “Block them. I usually block them after receiving these kinds of calls.”
However, Aurora replied, “They have many different numbers. After you block this number, they might call you using another number a few days later.”
She focused on her meal. “These people really have too much time on their hands. After I hung up their call, they seemed as though they didn’t know what had happened. Do I really have to answer it and scold them?”
Ian, who was by the side, insisted, “Don’t pick up their calls.”
Aurora nodded. “I know. Of course I won’t answer it. I’m just furious at these liars. If I wasn’t thinking about how it might affect you, I would’ve answered their calls and given them a piece of my mind. After all, I’m already in such a bad state that I no longer care about my reputation.”
He retracted his gaze. “I’ll contact the agency later to ask them to settle this problem.”
She didn’t know what had transpired behind the scenes, so she agreed and the topic ended there.
When Aurora rejected both of Leah’s calls, Leah finally threw in the towel.
It was after dinner when Ian took Aurora’s phone and returned to his room. “I’m calling the agency.”
However, upon entering his room, he immediately used her phone to dial Leah’s number.
Leah also didn’t immediately answer the call. Instead, she chose to wait for a moment.
Once the call was connected, she felt slightly awkward because there was total silence from Ian’s end.
Even though both Aurora and Leah were somewhat involved with Bryce, they weren’t connected to each other whatsoever.
After Aurora, Bryce was with a few other women before settling down with Leah.
Logically speaking, Aurora was no longer Bryce’s partner for the longest time ever, so Leah had no reason to look for her.
As Leah was feeling more or less guilty, she had a nice attitude.
She said, “Aurora, you probably don’t know who I am. Let me introduce myself—I am Leah Zimmerman.”
Ian had never heard her speak in such a gentle tone.
As she thought that she had already introduced herself, Leah figured Aurora would know who she was, so she smiled. “Can we talk now?”
Ian immediately opened his mouth. “What do you want to talk about?”
A startled Leah immediately changed the way she spoke. “You’re Ian?”
Ian’s voice was slightly different this time. Previously, he had an indifferent tone when he answered her call. Even if he was angry, he could still suppress it.
However, his voice was now icy cold. “Has my advice to you before this fallen on deaf ears? Do you think I’m just threatening you for nothing? Are you only going to back down after I have revealed the skeletons in your closet?”
Leah’s mouth was agape as she stammered, “W-Why are you picking up the phone?”
“That’s none of your business. Let me ask you—what do you want? Haven’t I made my point clear enough? Or, is it that you don’t understand human language at all?” Ian spared her no mercy at all.
She remained silent for a moment before replying, “I just wanted to discuss our individual profits with your mom. You don’t have to be so nervous. I won’t do anything to her.
Ian snorted in laughter. “You think too highly of yourself. What could you do to her? Do you have the ability to do anything?”
Without waiting for Leah’s reply, he immediately added, “I think I gave you too much respect last time until you think that we don’t have anything concrete in our hands.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
