The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1744

Chapter 1744 Calling Bryce

His answer melted her heart, and she kissed his chin. “I’m not that charming. Not everyone’s going to have ideas about me. You’re overestimating my ability.”

Ian kissed her back. “Well, I have ideas about you, so that means everyone else must too.”

They made out for a while longer, then they heard Aurora coming out of her room. However, she didn’t come to wake them up, but went to make breakfast after she freshened up.

They were going to see Bryce at the hospital that day, but it was around noon, so they were not in a hurry in the morning.

Cindy was feeling a little embarrassed. Now that Aurora had woken up, she too quickly got out of bed. “Let’s go. It’ll be rude of us if we don’t get up.”

Cindy had always woken up early in the morning, and Aurora knew it. That was why she was worried that Aurora might suspect something if she woke up late.

Ian knew what she was worried about, but he thought it was a nuisance. “Once we get back, I’m telling my mom to move bad to her own place. It’s so awkward with her around.”

Cindy tried her best not to blush. “You perv.”

Ian knew she was embarrassed, and he smiled silently.

After they finished breakfast, Aurora went into petty mode. She tried on all her clothes and asked for Ian and Cindy’s opinion. They nodded, saying she looked beautiful, but Aurora still wasn’t satisfied. She looked in the mirror and went back to have another change of clothes.

Cindy leaned on Ian’s shoulder and whispered, “If I didn’t know better, I would have thought she still loved your father. I mean, it’s only a visit, yet she’s this excited.”

Ian sighed. “She’s too obsessed with one upping my father.” It’s obvious that she’s the one who won, judging by the current situation. Dad’s in the hospital, but she’s just fine.

However, Aurora did not consider that for a moment. She was obsessed with showing her best side to Bryce. It was not because she still loved him; she just wanted him to regret dumping her.

Ian was planning to go to the hospital in the afternoon, but his mother was being too petty about the whole thing, so he texted Bryce furtively, asking him if he was free that morning. The earlier we see him, the earlier mom can calm down.

Bryce was surprised that Ian would text him. He thought Ian had some other business to do, so he called him back a short while later.

Ian did not take the call in front of Aurora. He held his phone and went back to his room, and he only took it after he closed the door.

Bryce sounded healthy enough on the phone. “You can come earlier if you have things to settle. I don’t mind.” He had nothing to do in the hospital anyway. The doctor would come to check up on him, and he would be left alone after that.

Ian grunted. He didn’t tell Bryce about what Aurora was doing and just said, “My company wants to settle this matter soon, so here’s a heads up.”

Bryce didn’t dwell on that matter too much. “Call me when you’re here.”

Ian hung up and went back out. Aurora had already changed into another dress and was pacing back and forth before the couch, asking Cindy for her opinion.

Cindy was smiling, but it was a tired smile. “Not bad. I think this one’s fine. You don’t have to change anymore.”

Aurora looked down at her dress. “Really? But don’t you think it’s a little too ordinary? Do I look elegant in this?”

Cindy quickly nodded. “Yes, you do. You look elegant in anything.”

Ian knew Cindy was running out of adjectives, so he quickly went to her aid. “This one’s fine. Take your stuff. We’re leaving now. I got a call and they said we can go over right now.”
