Even if Ian wasn’t sleepy, he still nodded off to sleep after lying down for a while. The two napped until evening was upon them. Cindy was the first to stir.
She still felt weak and sore, and it took a long while after opening her eyes to register that she had returned. She nudged in closer to Ian and let out a long breath.
No matter which city they were in, her days with Ian never experienced much change. However, after leaving that city and the Morgan Residence, Cindy felt that she could finally relax.
Ian woke up a while later, and his first reaction was to reach up and caress her on the back of the head. “Up already?”
Cindy looked up at Ian’s chin. “I’m hungry.”
Immediately, Ian smiled. I bet you are.
Cindy hadn’t eaten much of the in-flight meal, after all. The only meal she had the whole day was breakfast in the morning.
Ian turned around to get his phone. “There’s probably nothing much in the fridge, so let’s get takeout.”
Even if there was something in the fridge, Cindy didn’t feel like moving at the moment. She nodded, then nestled deeper under the covers. “You can call your mother and ask if she has eaten. If not, we can eat together.”
Ian agreed but didn’t phone Aurora. Instead, he just sent her a message.
Aurora was fully awake, so when Ian sent the message, her reply came immediately. She said that she had cooked some instant noodles and had been cleaning up the whole day, so she was tired and didn’t want to go out.
Seeing that, Ian didn’t press further. He just reminded her to rest well. Then, he turned around to look at Cindy. “She’s not coming over, so it’s just us now.”
Cindy nodded. She was extremely tired, and her stomach was empty, so she mumbled, “Order some more food. I’m so hungry.”
Without a word, Ian smiled and began tapping the phone screen. When the order was sent in, he got up and got the water running in the bath. Then, he carried Cindy over to the bathroom.
It was not their first time being completely bare around each other, so she didn’t mind it that much. He helped her with her bath, then wrapped her up in towels and proceeded to help her change.
Throughout the whole process, Cindy was just enjoying the service with a smile.
Seeing her like that, Ian couldn’t help but give her a peck. “Did that feel good?”
Cindy grinned. “Yes, of course.”
A mischievous grin crept onto Ian’s lips. “I meant on the bed.”
Cindy immediately landed a blow on Ian’s chest. “Watch your mouth.”
Ian carried Cindy outside and placed her on the couch. They still hadn’t cleaned up the living room, even though it didn’t require much effort. Still, Ian fetched a wet towel and began wiping the place clean.
Cindy sat on the couch and watched him, thinking that she somehow saw a househusband in Ian. This was probably a scene other people wouldn’t have the privilege to see.
It didn’t take long to clean up; Ian was almost done by the time the takeout arrived, ordering a bit more food than anyone had anticipated. He took the bag of food to the dining table and called Cindy over to eat.
The two had just taken their seats at the dining table when Ian’s phone rang. He took his phone and glanced at it, then his eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly.
Cindy could feel from Ian’s expression that something was wrong, so she hastily asked, “What happened?”
Ian showed Cindy his phone. It was a call from Yulia. He was smart, for he knew that Cindy held grudges against Yulia. This was why he didn’t hide his phone from Cindy.
Cindy said, “Just answer the call. If there’s anything she wants to say, she’d better say it clearly.”
Ian did as he was told, then activated the hands-free mode. Yulia’s voice sounded gentle over the phone as she asked, “Have you rested well?”
Ian said yes, then asked if there was anything she wanted to say.
Yulia smacked her lips. “I just met and chatted with a few of my friends, and there’s something I want to ask you. Does Mrs. Morgan have a schedule? If possible, I have a few more resources I can introduce to her.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
