Cindy looked at Logan before shifting her gaze to Lola. Honestly speaking, she was envious of the couple.
Not because they were rich and influential, but that their relationship was relaxed.
Perhaps because Logan shielded Lola well, which was why Cindy barely ever saw Lola upset. The woman was always happy and relaxed.
Who wouldn't be envious of such a couple?
Ian shot a glance at Cindy and noticed she was looking at Logan and Lola. Then, he figured out what was on her mind when he saw the hints of envy in her eyes.
With that, he pulled her hand over to him, thereafter interlocking their fingers.
Though he said nothing, his stance was evident.
At that, Cindy took a deep breath and smiled at Ian.
The atmosphere at the table was wonderful. When Lola wasn't roasting Logan, she took Cindy with her to chat with Sophia and Aurora.
Perhaps because things got quite sentimental earlier, Lola now wanted to liven up the atmosphere. So, she specifically talked about all the dumb stuff her husband did at home.
Sophia laughed so hard that she started crying, but Cindy was still all envious when she laughed.
When Logan did what he did, he had Lola's best interest in mind the whole time. In other words, she was all he had eyes for.
Cindy had heard from Ian that Logan was a fearless guy, so she was surprised to learn that he could baby his wife like a piece of treasure.
Of course, Cindy had seen people born into the purple in the past, but they might not be as rich as Logan.
At least, they were already considered well off back in her hometown.
But those guys all acted like nouveau riche. Being unfaithful to their relationships aside, they barely even respected or empathized with people around them.
Wealth had driven them to think they were better than anyone else on this planet so no matter where they were, they would act all high and mighty.
Hence, Cindy thought Logan was a commendable one.
The dinner lasted over two hours as everyone had a ball. And yes, all the men had drunk tons of alcohol.
On the bright side, they were in a hotel, so they could just book a few rooms and drag the men upstairs.
Being pregnant, Lola didn't give a thing about Logan, letting the server take him away. She never even spared him a glance the entire time.
At that, Sophia jokingly said, "Are you not worried these guys will sell your husband off in the black market?"
Lola waved her hand in response. "If they sell him off, then all his assets will be mine. You'll see me bring out the fireworks by then."
"What's going to happen if Logan hears you?" Sophia asked.
Lola raised her chin slightly at that, somewhat smug. "He wouldn't dare do anything. You should see how I bullied him lately. He's gotten very lowly in our household."
Then, she continued with a chuckle, "A while back, I said I wanted to get a cat, but he said no. His reason was that his status at home would definitely be lower than it if we actually got one. Then, it occurred to me that raising a cat can be quite troublesome, so I suggested getting a couple fishes. But he said no to that as well. He said we might as well get the cat instead. That way, his status would drop slower."
Cindy giggled upon hearing that. "You guys sure live a leisurely life."
Lola couldn't deny that. Ever since marrying Logan, she has been living her best life.
She didn't have to worry about anything, as Logan would deal with everything that happened at home. She thought she was turning into a useless piece of junk with how Logan babied her.
Sometimes, Lola imagined that she would definitely be running around, busying away at this time if she didn't choose to marry Logan in the end.
Logan had provided her with a sweeping change in her life, giving it a quantum leap.
While the women continued chatting away, the men had been brought to their respective rooms.
A while later, Cindy got a little worried about Ian, so she got up and said, "I should go and check on Ian. I worry he'll puke as he has drunk so much. You guys can wait for me here. I'll be right back."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
