Chapter 158
As Cecilia approached, the bodyguards stopped arguing with Jayden.
Cecilia had been to the Yates residence twice, so the
bodyguards knew she and Yvette were on good terms. As such, they treated her deferentially.
“Ms. Yancey.”
Cecilia nodded in response before her gaze landed on Jayden. “What are you doing here?”
Jayden snorted coldly, “Even a jinx like you is here, so why can’t I?”
Although Fiona’s incident hadn’t been made known to
everyone, it wasn’t hard for one to find out as long as they put in the effort to.
The mere thought that Fiona had suffered unbearable torment due to Cecilia made Jayden heartbroken and furious.
Jayden’s words stung Cecilia, and her sharp eyes flashed with a warning look.
“This fellow clearly doesn’t really care about Fiona. He just wants to take advantage of her vulnerability and look out for his own future,” she mused.
She leaned her body forward in Jayden’s direction.
This startled Jayden, for he assumed she was going to beat him -up. As such, he immediately took two steps back.
Cecilia was rendered speechless.
She lowered her voice before saying, “Fiona is not your stepping stone. Get lost!”
If Jayden were serious about Fiona, Cecilia wouldn’t have interfered.

Sadly, the man in front of her only cared about his own interests.
Jayden scowled at Cecilia. “You’re the one who should be getting lost!”
He didn’t think Fiona would want to meet someone who indirectly harmed her.
While speaking, he started to yank Cecilia, completely forgetting that he was no match for her at all.
The next second, Cecilia twisted his right arm behind his back and shoved him against the wall, pressing him so hard that his handsome face became deformed.
Immense pain spread from his shoulder to the rest of his body, making him quiver.
“You’re out of your mind! Let go of me!”
“Tsk. Are you a dog? All you know is bark.”
Hearing this, the two bodyguards standing aside couldn’t help laughing.
Jayden’s face instantly turned ashen.
He struggled for a bit, but the pain in his shoulder became more and more intense, so he dared not move anymore.
Cecilia’s icy words then sounded in his ears.
“Do not mess with Fiona. You don’t deserve her!”
Jayden burst out laughing as if he had heard the most absurd joke in the world.
“I don’t deserve her?” As soon as he said that, he realized it was inappropriate and hurriedly corrected himself. “It’s not up to you to determine whether I deserve her or not!”
Had it not been for his sharp decline in fame and resources, he would have never come to Fiona, who had been S**ually
assaulted.

Cecilia, of course, didn’t miss the disdain that flickered in Jayden’s eyes, and her grip tightened.
Jayden cried out, “Let go, or else I’ll sue you for battery.”
Cecilia ignored him and threatened. “Do you reckon if I make it seem like I’m close with the Yancey family, the people who want to hurt me will go after you guys, too?”
“Those people are all dead. Who are you trying to scare?” he hollered.
“How naive!”
After saying that, Cecilia let go of Jayden and flashed him a chilly smile.
Feeling goosebumps rising, Jayden covered his breaking shoulder and turned around to leave.
The two bodyguards immediately thanked Cecilia, “Ms. Yancey, thank you for driving away the ill–intentioned Mr. Yancey.”
“Why didn’t you guys just chase him away?” Cecilia asked curiously.
“Mr. Yancey attracts a lot of attention, and there are many journalists downstairs. If he really makes trouble, we won’t be able to hide what happened to Ms. Yates.”
Cecilia had come straight from the underground parking, so she had no idea that there were journalists downstairs.
Frowning, she sent a message to Christopher: [Chris, get the journalists downstairs out of here.]
In no time, the man texted back: [Okay.]
She then looked at the two bodyguards. “If Jayden comes over again, feel free to kick him out right away. That is unless Fiona wants to see him.”
“Got it. Thank you, Ms. Yancey.”
After saying “no problem,” Cecilia looked through the small

window on the ward door.
“May I go in to see Fiona?”
A bodyguard nodded. “Of course, Ms. Yancey.”
Cecilia pushed the door open and entered.
Fiona’s bed had been moved to the floor–to–ceiling window. Hence, it was no wonder she couldn’t be seen from the small window.
The VIP floor was relatively high, allowing people to see the bustling streets and bright lights of the night.
Upon hearing the door open, Fiona looked back.
Her battered and bruised face broke into a smile at the sight of Cecilia.
Cecilia quickly approached and sat down on the chair beside the bed so as not to make Fiona’s neck uncomfortable from looking up for too long.
“I’m sorry, Fiona.”
She knew it was useless to apologize, but other than an apology, she didn’t know what else to say. After all, the harm had been done.
Fiona shook her head lightly and said in a hoarse voice, “It has nothing to do with you. I was careless. Don’t blame yourself.” She was rather open–minded, which was how she managed to restrain herself while she was hurt.
Thereafter, in desperate straits, she found an opportunity to save herself and even dealt with the people who hurt her with her own hands. She considered that pretty worth it.
When Cecilia met Fiona’s sincere gaze, her heart sank even
more.
“What do you want? As long as I have it and can do it, I’ll fulfill your wish.”

What she didn’t say was that even if she couldn’t do it, she would try her best to.
Fiona genuinely didn’t blame Cecilia.
She shook her head again. “I don’t lack anything.”
The moment she finished speaking, an idea flashed in her mind.
“If I don’t ask Cecilia for anything, she’ll definitely be ridden with guilt. I’d best just make a request to make her feel better,” she thought.
“Ceci, it suddenly occurred to me that there’s a thing only you can do.”
