Their End, My Beginning novel Chapter 24

*Kat’s POV

After parking my car in the underground parking of Waynst. I got off and walked to the elevator and it had only one button and a code box. Okay, so only the person who has the code can go to wherever it takes to, and since I don’t have that code, I pressed the only button left other than the buttons that call for emergency. It took me to a floor which I later understood was the ground floor of the company and I got off and came to see a beautiful blonde lady sitting behind the desk. So that must be the receptionist. And I walked to her.

“Hi how may I help.” She asked, smiling at me. And here I am thinking, this beautiful lady will be a rude bitchy type of lady. So, ‘don’t judge the book by its cover’ is actually true.

“Hi, I am Katherine Marshal. I am here to meet Ry- um, Mr. Scott.” When I was about to say his name, she narrowed her eyes at me. Well, the look she gave me can be who-is-this-lady-trying-to-steal-my-boyfriend, I got this look soo many times during highschool when I was walking down the hallways with Ryder. Ryder is very handsome, I cannot deny that, and so many girls having a crush on him, especially those bitchy meany type already take him to be their boyfriend. I got used to that look.

But the look this pretty lady gave me can also be who-is-this-lady-daring-to-say-our-boss’s-first-name, well judging from the way he has changed I have no doubt that he makes other intimidated.

“Wait, do you know our boss, cause no one who doesn’t know him dares to say his first name even if it is not in his presence.” She said confirming that the look she gave was the second one I thought ‘who-is-this-lady-daring-to-say-our-boss’s-first-name,’ look.

“Well, that’s a long story.” I said and sighed. She gave me a sympathetic smile. Why did she-

“You must be one those girls who bedded with him coming again to see him, right?” she said answering my unasked even not completed thought question.

“NO.” I said raising my voice. Forget about meeting, I don’t go behind a person who doesn’t want me if anything, I deserve men to be behind me if they denied me.
