"Do you have a choice now?" he fired back. Her face went blank as she sank into despair. He threatened her again when she refused to tell, "Do you think I can't get to the bottom of it? I can investigate all the people you were in contact with. It's a matter of time before I find out about him."

"I'll tell," she hurriedly added. "But promise me not to tell anyone else. And don't give him trouble. I willingly keep the baby, and he doesn't even know about the pregnancy."
