The brakes sounded, and the car stopped at the side of the road. Jenny was about to ask Alec what was going on when she saw him looking at her intently. His look seemed to suggest that she had hurt his feelings.

"I should be the one feeling hurt,” Jenny thought.

' Jenny, am I such a terrible person in your eyes?" Alec asked in a low voice after some time; the tone of his voice was indescribably sad.

The sight of Alec looking so broken tugged at Jenny's heartstrings, but she still smiled and said, "To tell you the truth, Alec; your trustworthiness is basically zero."

Alec smiled bitterly, knowing that this was all his own doing. "I’m sorry..."

"You don't have to apologize to me, even if you really had ulterior motives at the beginning, I don't care. After all, I know you meant it when you showed me you genuinely loved me, and I really did feel happiness during those times."
