Alec's frustrations were put to rest with a nice cup of coffee sliding down his stomach. "Talk."
Jenny nodded and straightened her back. She stared straight into Alec's eyes when she said, "You've lost your memories, haven't you?"
Alec's eyebrows raised, and anger flashed in his eyes.
"I've called Grandpa and Paul. I've deduced from their words that you have indeed lost your memories," Jenny continued before he could speak. She stared at him, attempting to detect any changes in his expression. Surprisingly, he remained calm.
There was silence.
A few moments later, Jenny broke the silence. "Why aren't you answering my question?"
"I think you're hilarious. I don't know what to say," Alec sneered, his tone full of sarcasm. He leaned forward, placing his weight on the table. "Losing my memories? Have you watched too many movies, or are you just brain-dead? Why are you telling such jokes?"
"Jokes?" Jenny asked. Alec's reaction was making her even more certain of it. "I thought it was hilarious, too, when I came to this conclusion. In fact, I couldn't quite believe it. But then I thought about it and can now confirm that you have lost your memories. That's why you haven't returned to Parrington. You're afraid of your grandfather finding out. You don't want to keep in touch with the people from your past because you're afraid of being found out."'
Alec was avoiding even her.

Loved the novel!! Hated the ending. It felt rushed to get it finished. I hope there is a sequel. There is a ton of potential for one....
The adds are getting worse! I shouldn't have to see porn to read a book...
