Alec, meanwhile, had gone to meet Zeke to talk to him about the breakup with Blake.

"I didn't feel like we were compatible after some time together. That's why I chose to do it," Alec explained.

Though it was just a way to placate them, and they both knew the real reason why, Zeke still didn't point it out. "I see. Might as well save everyone some time, hm."

"Yes. Thank you for understanding." Alec gave him a bow out of respect.

The two conversed briefly for several more minutes, with Alec reporting how the company was doing and getting the old man's approval before he finally left.

Zeke immediately dropped his polite mask afterward.

"Why do you think he broke up with Blake Watkins?" he asked his butler, who had appeared behind him.

The butler gave it some thought, then said, "Probably because he doesn't think he needs the Watkins'' help to become family head."

No one had any idea where he got that confidence from.

"I doubt it. Do you really think the Watkins would call off their deal with Alec just because they broke up with one of their many children?"

The butler nodded in understanding, saying nothing in return.

After a moment, Zeke said, "For some reason, I'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice."

His butler was surprised to hear that. "Do you find Alec hard to control?"

Jenny went to work as usual at Bardoff Hospital, though this time, most of her colleagues had now changed their perception toward her.

She was surprised to see McKenna walking hand in hand with Derrick, however. She hadn't imagined those two would get together, especially now that McKenna knew just what kind of jackass Derrick was.

The couple was surprised to see Jenny, though they shared different thoughts.

Derrick still regretted not winning Jenny over, of course. His future would've been guaranteed otherwise. He didn't let McKenna know of this, however, lest she made another scene.

McKenna on the other hand, was beaming like a lighthouse on a misty morning. "Derrick and I are officially dating now, Dr. Walter. You'll give us your blessing, won't you?"
