Jenny coughed, obviously awkward.

Alec had indeed often asked her out during the time he was hospitalized, and she had always refused. She didn't think he'd be talking about it now. Did he have to be so petty?

"I saw Zeke in the hospital this morning. He was here to see you, wasn't he?" Jenny asked, curious.

Alec nodded. "You say you don't care about me, but you do, really. Haven't you noticed?"

"What do you mean? Zeke was so noticeable. I would have seen him as long as I wasn't blind." On top of that, everyone in the hospital was talking about it. Even if she hadn't seen him, she would have known.

What a pity that Alec couldn't care less about her denial. "He was here to see me. He's caught two of Xavier's killers and wants me to interrogate them."

"What?" Jenny instantly grew worried. "They won't give you away, will they?"

Alec looked at her, saying nothing.

Jenny felt embarrassed and said, "I was just asking. I don't care for you at all."

"Alright. Whatever you say." Alec didn't mean to argue with her. He already knew the answer. She just didn't want to admit it.

She pouted. At that moment, their food was served, easing the awkwardness somewhat. "You haven't replied to my question. Will they give you away?"

"Don't worry. They won't," he said. They had no idea that he was the true mastermind behind it. They couldn't give him away.
