Chapter 0118
I had no idea if my guess was right, but I was willing to excuse his behavior. Zachary had someone he loved greatly. He was so lucky. Honestly speaking, I was quite
envious of him.
I brushed my cheek across Nicholas‘ as I leaned over speak into the phone. “Ms. Gardner, don’t make things difficult for Zachary Robinson. Tell the police to take his statement and release him after that. Please protect his identity in this investigation.”
Nicholas frowned in disapproval. His expression Immediately went cold. A dangerous glint danced in his dark eyes as he gazed at me.
“Ms. Garner-“I sealed his mouth with my own before he could finish speaking.
I didn’t like it when Nicholas‘ gaze was cold, so I used my hands to cover his eyes. It was the best kissing experience I could provide him with.
“Mr. Hawk, what were you saying just now? I couldn’t hear your instructions properly. Can you repeat them again?”
I protected Nicholas‘ pride by kissing him silently. Perhaps Beth thought the signal had flickered out on our side just now. Soon, I broke the kiss.
Nicholas exhaled slowly. By the time he spoke up, his voice was all hoarse. “Ms. Gardner, you can let Zachary Robinson off with a light slap on the wrist. Lock him up in prison for three days, but make sure to hide his identity in the investigation.”
I frowned, clearly displeased with Nicholas‘ arrangement. So, I reached out to snatch his phone away, but Nicholas refused to let me have it, so he extended his arm far away from me. I couldn’t even grab it despite having already straddled him.
Furious, I was about to kiss Nicholas just to get him to give in, but he was quick to block my mouth with his hand.
“Stop using this method! This is my bottom line!”
Alright, alright. Nicholas had his own principles to follow.
Beth, being an observant secretary, quickly ended the call. When I saw the screen dimming, I felt that it was no use fighting for Zachary.
If he was fated to go through a three–day imprisonment, then I’d just let him be. It was better than ruining his future as a celebrity.
