I had no idea if my guess was right, but I was willing to excuse his behavior. Zachary had someone he loved greatly. He was so lucky. Honestly speaking, I was quite

envious of him.

I brushed my cheek across Nicholas‘ as I leaned over speak into the phone. “Ms. Gardner, don’t make things difficult for Zachary Robinson. Tell the police to take his statement and release him after that. Please protect his identity in this investigation.”
