Chapter 0177
Suddenly, I lost all desire to explain myself. In his eyes, an
explanation would only turn into me admitting my mistakes.
Nicholas sounded somewhat hurt as he said, “Ariana, do you know what the cruelest thing about you is?”
I glanced at him calmly without an ounce of emotion. If I could truly be fuel toward him, I wouldn’t end up in such a pathetic state and be forced to argue with him in such a small space.
Nicholas smiled. “The most cruel thing about you is that you returned to my side and made me fall in love with you.”
Love? I thought I had misheard him as I turned my head up to look at him in confusion. At that moment, I almost forgot that we were arguing because he had calmly brought up the word “love“.
He wanted to lift his hand to touch me, but the injury on his waist had begun to hurt, so he could only put his hand down.
The next second, he said cruelly, “But it’s a shame because I will never love you.”
Oh-
Nicholas had countless women trying to win his heart from a young age. He was used to navigating through their pursuits and had formed a tolerance against his feelings toward women. So how could he possibly fall in love with me?
Nicholas and I both fell into silence in the speeding car. His breaths. were labored, and the emotional rollercoaster we had just been through had drained him of his energy while his chest heaved heavily.
Seemingly unsatisfied, he decided to attack me more cruelly. “I
won’t let you off the hook if anything happens to my dad! You better. start praying that he’ll be fine.”
But how could he possibly keep me by his side? As long as he wanted children, a divorce between us would be inevitable.
I looked out of the window and quietly took a few deep breaths. Then, I reminded him calmly, “It’s illegal for one to hire a surrogate mother in our country.”
