As soon as she asked that, the atmosphere in the room changed.
A tinge of sharpness flashed across Zachary's eyes as he looked at Yvonne.
Yvonne blinked innocently, making it seem as if there wasn't any hidden meaning behind her words, or it could also mean that she was simply being straightforward.
She clearly had done it on purpose.
Zachary snorted and said mockingly, "What? Do you really think that you're the only woman in my life throughout all these years?"
Her heart instantly tensed up.
Yvonne looked at him, and when she met his deep gaze, she pursed her lips, and said, "No, I won't flatter myself to such an extent."
However, she knew that Zachary had no other women in his life.
He was a very disciplined man who didn't behave recklessly.
Yvonne also understood how strict Zachary's upbringing was, as well as how stern and dignified his father had been back when he was still alive. Therefore, even if Zachary answered her that way, Yvonne didn't believe him either, not to mention how she had solid evidence that he had been single over the past few years.
However, when Zachary said this, Yvonne's heart still felt uncomfortable, as his words made her feel distressed.
Men could care a lot about their dignity and self-esteem to ensure they wouldn't get trampled on. That was understandable.
As such, she was willing to cooperate with him.
However, her response angered Zachary further.
He gave Yvonne a vicious look, and then proceeded to remain in silence.
The atmosphere wasn't very good. So, Yvonne turned around to sort out some items and clothes.
She was sorting out her items and clothes. Soon after, all the clothes to be washed were inside the washing machine as she washed her undergarments.
Of course, she washed his clothes as well.
However, his suit had to be dry cleaned. So, she couldn't work on that. She could only hang it up and then send it to the dry cleaner soon.
After washing the laundry for a long time, the rain
wasn't as heavy as it was already. Zachary was almost done with his ginger tea as well.
Yvonne also came out to the living room and saw that his cup was nearly empty. She asked, "Do you want to have more ginger tea?"
Zachary answered coldly, "It tasted horrible."
Yvonne stared at him blankly for a moment, and then she laughed. That was right. It really didn't taste very good.
However, it was very useful.
It could prevent a cold.
"Your salary will be 60,000 dollars a month." Zachary said in a low voice, "That should be enough for you."
"Salary?" Yvonne was taken aback. "I don't want that amount of money. It's too much."
"It's your lover's fees," Zachary responded.
Yvonne's heart tightened again. She looked at Zachary and realized how he still liked to mock her and upset her. She thought of how this probably made him feel better.
Hence, she allowed him to do so as he pleased.
"Alright, then." Yvonne said, "Don't mind me then. Just transfer it to my account directly. I'll send you my account number soon."
Once again, she handled his moves nicely.
Actually, he was hoping to see her actual reaction, but she always responded in such a way.
None of his actions had much of an effect.
He thought she would be angry, but she wasn't.
Forget it. Why did he have to behave like a child?
It was enough for him to tie her to his side.
She did not resist his offer and even agreed to it. Wasn't that what he wanted? If so, why was he still so unhappy about it?
He kept silent for a long time, and finally uttered a simple response to signal his agreement.
Yvonne waited until the clothes in the washing machine were completely washed before she started hanging them up to let them dry.
When she came back again, Zachary had already gone to the bedroom.
