That was definitely not the truth.
Zachary could see how her eyes were twinkling despite the fact that she continued to look into him.
Yvonne continued on. "Really, I left because I loved you too much."
"Bullshit." Finally, Zachary couldn't help but to curse at her.
Having pushed such a cultivated gentleman to this extent where he had to curse, Yvonne also felt that she was abhorrent.
"Fine." Zachary naturally did not believe it. He calmed himself down a little and said patiently, "In that case, why did you return after escaping?"
"I couldn't bear to be separated from you or our child," Yvonne answered again.
Her answers matched up perfectly.
Seemingly perfect.
Her answer rendered Zachary speechless.
It seemed like she was still unwilling to open up her heart to Zachary.
Since he had asked her so many times but had yet to get an answer, he had to resort to launching his own investigation.
The only thing he could do at this point, was to investigate why she had left in the past. However, considering how it had already been seven years, it was probably not going to be easy to find out why.
He felt extremely dejected at how Yvonne seemed not to care about this at all.
After looking at her, he stood up and left.
Yvonne stood up immediately and grabbed him.
"Zachary, where are you going?"
Suddenly, there was thunder outside, causing Yvonne's arm to stiffen.
She then let go of him.
Zachary slowly turned around and said to her, "Since you are my lover, as you wish for, your purpose in my life is merely to work on what we did just now."
Yvonne's face turned pale as blood slowly faded from her face.
Zachary glanced at her and left without saying anything else.
Yvonne stood frozen to the ground.
She did not dare to speak.
She thought that Zachary would leave, but she didn't hear the sound of the door.
It looked like he didn't leave after all.
Indeed, Zachary did not leave.
He was making a phone call outside.
"Investigate the man who returned to the country alongside Yvonne. I want to know his identity, career, and background."
"Yes."
After Zachary was done with the phone call, he attempted to grab his cigarettes, but they weren't in his pocket.
He had finished his last packet earlier.
He finished it when he was wandering outside.
He didn't have any other packets left.
Suddenly, he felt a little annoyed.
At this moment, the door was opened.
Yvonne, who had changed her clothes, came out from the room.
She was pleasantly surprised when she saw that Zachary had not left. Without saying anything, she went into the kitchen to boil a cup of ginger tea for him.
Zachary didn't talk much either.
He simply looked at Yvonne in a daze. Her hair wasn't tied up and her face was only as big as the size of his palm, making it look really dainty. Her eyes had a misty look, which made her seem as if she was innocent.
