Zachary sped all the way back to the apartment. Once they arrived, he grabbed Yvonne's hand, striding.
Yvonne was so tired that she was out of breath. She couldn't catch up with Zachary's long strides, not to mention she was wearing three-inch high heels, so she could only run in small steps.
The sound her heels made echoed through the corridor.
"I... I can't walk anymore." Yvonne said nervously as her heart pounded violently. She didn’t have to guess why Zachary anxiously brought her back to the apartment.
However, it was during the day right then. She felt embarrassed for skipping work with Zachary on her first day.
Zachary didn't intend to stop at all. He took her hand and raced towards the door.
He quickly opened the door and entered.
As soon as he lowered his head, he silenced all of Yvonne's protests and panting sounds.
It was so intense.
Yvonne's eyes were full of shock.
The enlarged handsome face in front of her was so clear that her eyes widened. After a moment of being in a daze, she stopped resisting.
Then, she gently lifted her arms that were at her side and wrapped them around Zachary.
Suddenly, he distanced himself from her and looked down at her.
"You did it on purpose," He said in a deep voice.
Yvonne was dumbfounded.
She could see Zachary's gaze was deep and dark.
And his words surprised her so much.
"What?" She had not fully realized what was happening. She only felt that this question had something to do with their daughter.
Zachary narrowed his eyes and said in a low voice, "What you said to our daughter."
Yvonne recalled all the bold words she had said earlier and felt her face flush red and hot.
Yes, she did it on purpose.
"I did it on purpose." She nodded.
Zachary glared at her and gritted his teeth, "Yvonne, you've left for so long. Are you not even willing to hand out an ounce of gentleness to your child?"
Yvonne was stunned. A hint of sadness flashed across her eyes. She felt slightly down.
She looked at Zachary and retorted, "Why should I do that? I don't want to do that. Is your daughter someone who needs charity?"
A wave of emotions struck her. She thought he would understand her, but he didn't. It made her feel aggrieved.
She hid all her gentleness away. Now that she couldn't even get close to her child, how could she give it to her?
Right now, all she could do was to try and let her child accept her and slowly return.
Yvonne burst into tears when she felt that he didn’ t understand her.
"Why are you crying?" Zachary lowered his voice a little.
"I'm not crying." Yvonne retorted. Had she actually shed tears?
Yes, she felt it now.
Even she felt surprised.
Zachary looked at her. His gaze was complicated and his tone was ambiguous, "You're not crying? You're so stubborn and you keep saying words you don't mean. Why won't you act weak in front of your daughter?"
Yvonne was startled. She immediately shifted her gaze away, but the tears kept streaming down her face.
Zachary held up her chin.
Yvonne's heart began to thump wildly.
To the point where she could even hear her heart beating uncontrollably.
Zachary lowered his eyes and stared at her. They were no longer full of accusations and were replaced with gentleness.
Yvonne didn't look at him. So she naturally didn't know how gentle he looked.
Zachary spoke again, "Look at me."
Yvonne didn't.
She stubbornly looked away and refused to look him in the eyes.
Zachary saw that she was being obstinate, so he warned in a low voice, "If you want to keep your clothes intact, you'd better be obedient."
