True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1958

Gary was the first to notice the wrinkles and mud stains on Ernest and Leah's shirts. He burst into laughter right away.

They were startled by his laughter and frowned as they turned to him.

Ernest then followed suit and burst into laughter.

That was because Gary's clothes were wrinkled too. His buttons were even done up wrongly. It was definitely not Gary's usual style.

Gary lowered his head and looked at himself. His laughter dried up abruptly.

The four of them looked at each other in increasing embarrassment.

They exchanged looks and then laughed. Celeste's face went bright red as she took note of her appearance.

Not only were her clothes dirty there was also a leaf stuck in between her hair.

Needless to say, it was obvious what they did.

Gary and Celeste looked way worse than Ernest and Leah now that they were standing in the well-lit living room.

Celeste immediately lowered her head to cover up her embarrassment.

The butler seemed to be a little surprised at their appearances, he gasped, "Why are you all looking like this? Did you fall in the mountain?"

They were a little startled at his words but none of them answered.

The butler was still concerned. "Should I ask the doctor over and check if there are any injuries?"

Celeste's head dipped lower and lower.

Noticing Celeste's reaction, Gary immediately shot the butler a sharp glance. "We didn't fall. Go and prepare some warm soup for us. It's too cold to hike in the winter."

The butler was confused at his sharp tone but still quickly replied, "Sure, Master Gary. I'll be right back."

In fact, the butler had the warm soup prepared as soon as Gary asked the driver to pick them up from the top of the mountain.

At that time, the butler could only sigh at the fact that these youngsters insisted on going for a hike even in the middle of a winter night. He was already a little frightened at the idea.

And look! They came back in such a sorry state!

The butler gave them a meaningful look before walking away.

The four of them exchanged glances then without saying a word, all went back to their rooms to get changed.

Celeste glared sorrowfully at Gary as soon as they returned to their room.

Gary smiled at her reaction. "It's okay. No one will say anything about this."

"It's all your fault." Celeste took off her coat quickly.

Who knew that under the coat, the leggings inside were even more embarrassing.

It was stained with his traces. She was startled for a moment before her cheeks started burning again when she remembered how those stains got there.

Gary followed Celeste's gaze and was also startled. He then chuckled. "I'll wash your clothes for you. Go take a hot shower now or you'll catch a cold."

Celeste pouted and was a little reluctant. Eventually, she swallowed her embarrassment and ran to the bathroom.

The door slammed shut.

Gary looked at the door and shook his head with a sigh. "I wasn't the only one having fun, yet this was somehow all my fault. Are all women like this?"

Looking at the tightly shut door, Gary hesitated for a moment before walking over and knocking on the door.

He knocked for a while before he heard an annoyed voice say, "Leave me alone!"

"I don't want to bother you either." Gary felt wronged. "Celeste, I'm cold too. Can we shower together?"

Celeste paused for a moment then shouted, "Who wants to shower with you? Go away!"

"But I'm feeling so cold." Gary was sure Celeste couldn't bear to ignore his request. He continued saying, "Celeste, I'm cold. I've been feeling cold ever since we left the mountain. Can't you share the hot shower with me and keep me warm?"

"You're cold? It's more like you're boiling with lust!" Celeste shouted from inside, "I won't trust your words anymore. We always end up taking longer in the shower."

He would always fail to restrain himself and they would end up having to shower again.

She thought that they would be sharing a romantic moment alone at the top of the mountain that night, yet they ended up getting intimate instead.

Celeste felt like if they continued on like that, she would be stuck in the shower for most of the day.

She had to stay away from him, at least for that night.

Gary forced a smile upon hearing that.

He just wanted to get out of his dirty clothes and for once wasn't thinking of anything else.

However, Celeste refused to believe his words. Gary could grimace in remorse.

She was scared of him.

"I promise I just want to get out of these dirty clothes and take a shower," Gary continued to persuade.

"Wait in line then if that's the only thing you want to do," Celeste said resolutely.

She stopped responding to whatever Gary said next.
