True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1990

The two of them hugged each other tightly, and neither of them spoke.

The bedroom was very quiet, only their heartbeats and the sounds of their breathing could be heard.

Celeste did not fall asleep.

She knew that Gary had not fallen asleep either.

However, neither of them spoke. The two of them leaned against each other and cherished the peace they had after the passion.

After a long while, Gary raised his eyes and looked into her eyes. His eyes were filled with great guilt and apology.

He wanted to say something, but he stopped on second thought.

Just from his expressions alone, Celeste could tell that he was in a dilemma. She calmed herself down and adjusted her expression.

"Celeste," Gary finally spoke.

Celeste responded, she continued to nestle in his arms, she did not look into his conflicted expression which was handsome nonetheless.

After all, Celeste was kind and considerate. She did not want to look at Gary while he was in a difficult situation. That was why she did not look at him. She wanted to save his dignity.

Gary heaved a sigh or relief.

However, his heart was in a greater state of dilemma.

He felt like a greedy clown. He clearly felt very sorry for Celeste, but he still continued doing sorry things to her. He felt that even his soul had become extremely dirty.

However, there was no other way. As long as he was close to Celeste, he would not be able to think rationally.

That was especially the case when Celeste took the initiative to make out with him. Once she got close to him, Gary would completely forget about everything.

Everything would unfold so naturally.

He forgot about the agreement he had with Janice, and he also forgot that he had betrayed Celeste.

He felt that he was too detestable.

Gary wanted to discuss about the matter, but he knew very well that once he did, he might lose everything. He really did not want to do that.

He did not want Celeste to leave immediately.

That was probably why he made that request in Boston. He couldn't bring himself to lose Celeste just yet. He wanted to continue having unforgettable memories with her.

All in all, it was because he was too selfish.

Just the thought of breaking up with Celeste alone filled Gary's eyes with immense pain.

Gary wanted nothing more than for him to get drunk so that he could forget about all the pain and regret right then.

However, alcohol was the root of all his miseries.

He had made a mistake because he drank too much the last time, so he couldn't drink anymore then.

He heaved a long sigh.

Celeste's body suddenly turned stiff. She could not help but to ask him, "What's wrong?"

Gary was stunned. It was only at that moment did he realize that he had involuntarily let out a long sigh.

Then, he shook his head almost immediately. "It's nothing, I just want to be with you, just like how we were. I want to hug you to sleep every night, and wake up with you in my arms every morning too."

Celeste was stunned, she felt a little upset. She knew how he felt at that time, and she said in a soft voice, with hidden meanings behind her words, "Well, of course I would hope for that too. Besides, haven't we agreed to be together forever, and that we would never leave each other?"

Gary was shocked. That was right, he did say that.

A sharp look of pain and regret flashed through his eyes. He pursed his lips and felt immensely regretful. He might have to break that promise.

After a long, long while, Celeste still did not hear Gary's reply. She understood the conflicting thoughts in Gary's mind.

After a slight pause, Celeste smiled, she looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

The look in her eyes were deep, her eyes were bright red, and it seemed so gloomy.

Celeste's heart was throbbing with pain. She mustered up her courage and told him, "Shall we do it again?"
