True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1992

Gary felt a little helpless upon being teased. He just chuckled and said, "I turned gentle and got kinder to you, but what do I get from that? You are making fun of me. What kind of logic is that?"

Maria smiled and said, "Gary, I am complimenting you. I'm not making fun of you."

"If I can't tell the difference between mockery and praise, then I would have been living for nothing throughout all these years." Naturally, Gary would not hold back. He had always had a sharp tongue, so he would use it too.

Maria knew that his gentle side would not stay for long. In the end, he would still accidentally show his true colors.

She sighed and said, "Oh, okay, I am just happy for you. Gary, for you and Celeste, I hope that the two of you can be happy and good forever."

Upon mentioning that, Gary's expression became dazed. After a brief moment of thought, he nodded and said, "Of course, the same goes for you and Liam."

"We'll do our best," Maria immediately said, "Ernest and Leah, you and Celeste, as well as Liam and I should all continue to be happy."

Gary only nodded.

"Let us have dinner together at seven o'clock. There is still around an hour left. I will go upstairs first."

He said, "Okay, see you at seven."

With that, everyone went upstairs.

Maria and Liam returned to the guest room. Maria immediately turned towards Liam and said, "Now, you can be at ease that there is no problem between them."

When Liam heard that, he frowned and felt a little helpless. He thought that Maria had misunderstood him. He explained quickly, "What do you mean by that? Does it look like I was very worried?"

"Haha, I was worried too." Maria immediately laughed. "But I'm more jealous, especially because of Celeste. I always see you caring for Celeste, and I can't help but to feel jealous. Don't take it to heart."

Liam looked down at her and sighed. "So, it seems like you still don't fully trust me."

"It's not that I don't trust you, but a girl like me, who has succeeded after chasing after a celebrity, will sometimes have zero sense of security. I always feel that if happiness came too suddenly, and I will lose it one day." Maria said in selfmockery, "This is normal, Mr. Liam."

Liam leaned forward, pressed her against the wall, looked down at her, and stuck closely to Maria's body. His slender fingers propped Maria's chin. "What did you call me?"

"I called you mister." Maria smiled. "You are older than me. It's not wrong for me to call you that."

"I still like the nickname you gave me earlier better."

"What?" Maria was playing dumb.

Of course she would not call him 'hubby'. That was for fun and games in the bedroom. She only called him that when she lost control herself. She was still rational then, so how could she be that silly?

Liam could tell that she was playing dumb and was purposely not admitting it. He also knew that she could be shy at times too, so, he stopped teasing her.

He only lowered his head and gently kissed her lips, then he said, "I will be going back to the production crew tomorrow. Will you come with me?"

"Of course, I am your agent now. I have to be with the crew, and there's nothing wrong for me to be there." Maria felt that with her newfound title as his agent, she could do whatever she wanted without being discovered.

However, Liam only looked at her and said, "I feel very happy that you are coming with me, but I am also worried about you."

"Why?" Maria was puzzled.

"You have been back home for so many days, but you haven't gone home yet. You haven't accompanied Uncle and Madam Attwood. You have only been staying with me, and for such a long time too. I'm afraid that they will say that I'm not sensible." Liam had to worry about that. Maria was young. As he was a little older than her, he had to be more considerate for her.

"I see," Maria muttered. "Now that you mention it, it does feel like I haven't been home for quite some time."

To be honest, Maria did feel quite guilty when she thought of her grandmother who called earlier and their conversation.

She looked at Liam and said, "Then, are you going back to the crew yourself?"

When Liam heard that, he looked at Maria and asked, "Do you want to go home?"

It was obvious that he was a little reluctant.

However, when he thought of how she should go back to accompany her family, he still pretended to be calm. He would be the one who was going to be lovesick.

"Well, I thought about your proposal just now. I think maybe I should go home," Maria said. She looked at Liam's handsome face, and she was deliberately saying that so that she could see his desperate face.

Sure enough, she saw the complicated emotions in Liam's eyes when she said she was going home.
